Speaking of crap Victorians, when are they going to ditch Matt Short? 7 innings, top score of 58. Sure it's a small sample size but it's not exactly like he's lit anything up. That 58 against England was full of chances.

Pat Cummins must really hate losing. Most specialist batsmen would be happy to have as many match winnings innings as he does.

He’s missed plenty of cricket but Bumrah is about as good as any international bowler to play here. This opening spell is as good as it gets.

I hope Australia win but would love to see him have a big summer. Just electric to watch.

Yep he’s one of my favourites, glorious in full flight. He should have 4 already, Marnus seems to have no idea how to handle him and is in all sorts. I said last year that the way Smith walks across his stumps is an invitation for lbw, didn’t take long at all for Bumrah to nail him plumb. Magnificent bowler.

What an opening day of cricket. If this is any indication of the contest brewing here for the 5 match series, yes please. All of a sudden 150 is looking a decent first up score. Which I rarely would expect when a team wins the toss, bats first, and gets rolled in under 50 overs on the first day of Test match in Australia.

Bumrah ridiculously good. That spell was one for the ages.

Seeing Bumrah's action live square of the wicket is pretty fascinating. All his pace is generated forward of the umpire, to the point where I'm surprised he's only had one stress fracture.

He's a middle order batsman, should be batting 5-6 that's where all his great contributions at state level have came from
