Toast The Big 4 all getting over a million people through the gate in season 2023

Do I have to point out how s**t Essendon have been ? To still pull in the numbers they do is extrodinary. The top up year, where winning the toss was considered a victory, Essendon outdrew that years premier.
All teams have bandwagons, rich and carl are perfect examples, particularly richmond who nearly went out of existence due to their crowds deserting them. Ess and Coll have the largest core of supporters who show up no matter how they are doing onfield.
We have been a disgrace for two decades, the crowds we drag in don’t make sense, the club doesn’t really deserve the loyalty shown compared to what they have put us through.
Ess and Coll run the show, have done since day one. Sorry.

I think Anzac Day and Dreamtime pad essendon a numbers

Lucky for Richmond Sheedy wanted to give Richmond a leg up and involved them in the game. Could've easily been Carlton or Melbourne but decided to help out his own club using the red, black and yellow combo of colours as the reason. He also got the ball rolling for Anzac Day, why shouldn't we benefit? R.1 opener v Carlton doesn't pad your crowds at all?

Essendon would be completely irrelevant jb this league over the last 20 yrs if it wasn’t for Anzac Day

You can count your lucky stars

We don’t need Dreamtime either , you do lol

Not sure what you are on about, but im stating a fact.

Hawthorn home game round 1 - 68k
Anzac Day - Free Hit
Carlton Home game - 83k in a prime slot
Dreamtime - Free hit
Saints celebration home game - 69k

Essendons numbers arent real, and they arent a big club.

West Coast, Collingwood, Richmond, Carlton, Geelong, Adelaide.

Theres your big 6.
I was at all of those games and can say that bar Anzac Day Essendon had close to 50% if not more of the crowd as the away team. The home team on Anzac Day always has the higher percentage of the crowd but not by much. It's one game most away team supporters make an extra effort to attend.

Great. At the moment Essendon have three blockbusters to pad out their numbers in other games.

Anzac Day
Dream Time
Kings Birthday Sunday

Figures will always be skewed by those games in comparison to the clubs that dont get them.

Excuse ebert the kings confusion.
named after a port Adelaide player, lives in Melbourne, follows Fremantle, reckons Essendon couldn’t draw a bath.
His only ally is blaisee. Says enough.

Okay, doing it for everyone now:

Collingwood: 75.12%

Adelaide: 64.12%
Sydney: 63.6%
Fremantle: 63.55%
Brisbane: 63.42%
Western Bulldogs: 63.12%
West Coast: 62.63%
Richmond: 62.21%
Port Adelaide: 60.8%
Hawthorn: 59.38%
Gold Coast: 58.33%
GWS: 57.8%
St. Kilda: 56.47%
North Melbourne: 55.25%
Melbourne: 52.74%

Apologies for my earlier mistake Geelong fans, you are ahead of us this year.
The BIG 4.

Essendon drew 60k and 48k to MCG games against Sydney and Brisbane respectively in 2019. Richmond never did that before 2017 and I don’t believe Carlton have either.

Essendon have the second highest home average v interstate (of Victorian clubs) behind Collingwood.

In terms of socials, Essendon have the second highest number of SuperCoach players (generally a good guide of support across the league), the second highest number of Facebook fans and the second highest number of Victorian supporters according to Roy Morgan (if you put any weight on this) - all behind only Collingwood.

All this in the context of not winning a final since 2004, the PED saga, dumping coach after coach and being held hostage by an incompetent list manager.

If Essendon ever get their act together on field and manage to renegotiate a few more MCG home games I have no doubt they can be the highest drawing team in the league. There is a lot of latent support - though Collingwood are and will always be the biggest.

One million through the gate for the Big 4, but I still believe North Melbourne saved the league by playing GWS and Gold Coast at Docklands on a Sunday evening. Someone on Big Footy told me so.
You're welcome

Stop following me around and talking about me or I will get a restraining order
"Following you around".

Dude, the only threads we've been in together have been ones I posted in before you did. I posted on page 1 of this thread. I've analysed crowd figures in here. Your contributions have been literally on this page, and again, you make a very stupid argument.

Should I tag PhatBoy as well to see how stupid he can make you look as well?

Would’ve could’ve should’ve

It probably isn't fair to compare blockbuster figures. The two share one and each have had another this season (Opening game, ANZAC Day). So let's compare minor but similar games that they've had this season:

St Kilda at the MCG: Ess +7k
Suns at Docklands: Ess +9k
Geelong at MCG: Ess +9k
Port at MCG: Ess +8k
Brisbane at Gabba: Ess +1k
West Coast at Perth: Rich +1k
Fremantle at Perth: Rich +3k
Bulldogs at Docklands: Ess +4k

So Essendon have pulled in 34k more in comparable games this year so far. Let's see how it compares come the end of the year.

Your maths looks out, Freo are ahead of Essendon.
67.66% and that is using the offical capacity at Optus which looks dodgy. 60k unless it’s a GF and they squeeze people in.

All I can say is bravo 👏👏👏.
Backs against the wall, Collingwood have pushed through such adversity this year to reach this remarkable achievement. It's been breathtaking to see them overcome everything that's been thrown at them. Starting with having to leave Victoria on 6 separate occasions, the league even had the audacity to send them to Adelaide three times! Salt was further rubbed in to the wound by only receiving a paltry 10 standalone Primetime fixtures, also having to leave the comforts of their beloved MCG and make the arduous journey to Marvel 3 times. It's not even their home ground!
I'm in total awe of them and their brave journey from rags to riches that is unfolding before us.
Don’t forget we’re the only true Magpies too. That’s my favourite part.
