She referred to one organisation she was associated with (not us) as dominated by people "pale, male and stale". So watch out anyone like, well, me ;)
Mmmm..wonder what she really is bringing to the board or how we will know what she is bringing.
Mmmm..no need to wonder what she is bringing to the board. She just did, with what she said.
I like it, coz it's not Murdoch AM radio or Fox dross. Our neighbours can have what they've already got....the Beatles
We don't want it coz it's not enough....the Rolling Stones.

Probably because you give us such a informed and useful picture of the goings on, particularly in relation to the China initiative, that naturally we would defer to you ;)
No second prize :)

Pretty sure her job title is "Professional Millenial"
Caught a bit of some show on the ABC the other night and they were talking about "trend driving millennials" and people who have "their shoe laces artisan tied". I wonder if Holly has her shoe laces artisan tied or does she just use an app to tie them.

Pretty sure her job title is "Professional Millenial"

I wondered that too. Her introduction slide said "Emergent", so I was none the wiser. When I went to school, in the days before chalk, this meant a tree that grows over a rainforest. I'm not the smartest app in the store, but I assume that isn't what she meant. Perhaps it's more along the lines of Butch, our Emergent saviour :D

There is an article in the AICD's website titled: Inside the Boardroom with Holly Ransom

There are a few questions about millenials, being a young director, etc. This is the only one that talks about Port specifically:

BR: As a director, how do you go about making strategic decisions, say, with Port Adelaide's China strategy to spread the game there?

HR: The challenge for any board is looking at the organisation's mission and vision and thinking how do we make strategic decisions that position us to get there.

At Port Adelaide we think about how we support the club, how we take the club to new fans, where those fans come from, who they are and what they look like.

I think Port Adelaide is on to something quite incredible with what we're doing in China. We look at the statistics and it's mind-boggling. We had 4.2 million people watching our last game of AFL football there, the highest rating game we've ever seen.

Nothing unusual or overly exciting really.

Hope she's bringing something worthwhile

But it is all about millennials, just ask them.

Millenial was a new one on me and I had to look up what it meant. I usually refer to Gen X or Gen Y but as Gen Y refers to someone born between 1980-2000 I can see why we need a new stereotype grouping. I guess the Gen X and Y's have to be able to pass on some of the shit us baby boomers have given them over the years. :)
