Pure courage.

He is the toughest guy in the league pound for pound.

5 ft 9 and plays key defence when called on.

Just said no to Richmond.

Terrified the Blues.

He deserves every cent and day of a 2 year deal.

HFC act now.

SHow the courage, love and commitment to Brownie he has shown to us.

The most genuine straight shooters in the modern game.

MOre heart than phar lap.

Has to stay. You just can't replace the passion that this bloke brings on to the field. Part of the soul of this club.

Re: Sign him up...Brown deserves it

Spot on Merv
I was in the camp that thought campbell was outdated in the backline due to recent rule changes and liked his intensity up forward.
But holy shit has he been good down back the last few weeks, just unbelievable!!
I hope we lock him up, i hope he wants to be locked up by us too.
Kudos Browny, kudos

Re: Sign him up...Brown deserves it

Sign him up now hawthorn.
the man is a genuine superstar.
he's already stated he wants to be no where else, so give it to him.
we love you Brownie.

Re: Sign him up...Brown deserves it

There's obviously the possibility that the club won't offer him a contract because it can't...

I bloody hope not but surely he would have signed by now

The move down back has definitely sparked the Brown we love back into action and I think the rest of the team is beginning to follow.

Re: Sign him up...Brown deserves it

Surely now that Buddy, Rough, Hodge, Mitchell, Burgoyne, gibo and renouf are all signed on the dotted line Brown Dog has to be the next focus. He is only 27 so still has a good 2 or 3yrs left in him. He still has his pace, is as tough as nails, has been injury free for the last few yrs and is playing great footy down back where he belongs.

Also if he does re-sign it will put to bed all the rumours of him leaving to go the gold coast and the off season speculation involving port adealide.

Re: Sign him up...Brown deserves it

Had he played all year down back i reckon we could have won few more games. His having a good year... deserves to be resigned

Re: Sign him up...Brown deserves it

BROWN along with HODGE is the heart and soul of this club. Let's repay BROWN for his loyalty with a 3 yr contract ASAP. You cannot draft players with his courage and loyalty.

I can tell you now that I know of 2 very very loyal members who will NOT re-sign as members next year if this great man moves north and you can add me to that list.

I can think of a few players out there today on long contracts less deserving of a 3 year deal. SIGN HIM NOW HAWKS!!!!!!!!!

Re: Sign him up...Brown deserves it

Browndog epitomizes everything we want to see from a Hawk player.

Question is.... does he have the skills that the modern game needs? Desire, yes!!! But are players like WhiteX and Suckling looking at his place? In the end, yes... they are youngsters with marvellous skills.

All players have their time.... if Brownie makes more money elsewhere (GC) then good luck to him. As long as he leaves his legacy...

Re: Sign him up...Brown deserves it

It's criminal that the media have barely mentioned his awesomeness in the last two weeks :O

Re: Sign him up...Brown deserves it

Why did your coach play him forward? That game against Cats where his job was to drag Scarlett wide..what the?? Absolute natural back pocket on quick offensive types. Way better than Guerra. If you don't want him he would be exactly what GC need..mature, hard, loyal and grounded.

we want him dont you worry about that.

Re: Sign him up...Brown deserves it

Definitely sign him up. Give him two years, maybe even three. He was massive for us this week, as he was against the Tigers. He is also looking far more comfortable down back and the team has a better structure with him down there. Continually reppelled Carlton's attacking thrusts and saved numerous goals through his courage and desperation.

Must keep him imo.
