Eddie has spoken in the past how he's tried to have conversations with individuals and tried to educate them on what they're actually doing in the past. For him to have called someone out like this probably means he wasn't able to do anything for this person/this isn't the first time this person has done it.
Further to that, the environment at the moment is very much to call people out for what they're doing. I think the phase we're in now is to bring attention to how frequently this actually happens. It's easy for us to act like it isn't happening that often and isn't a big deal because these guys do try and sort it out behind the scenes so there's no visibility. Now people are making it visible and I think it's a good thing as we see how often these guys are targeted.
It's about getting as many people as possible to realise how big the issue is. Once enough people accept that it's a massive issue and are motivated to help solve the problem the next stage is education, but people much smarter than I will figure out how to do that. For now, naming and shaming has it's place. Especially for anonymous profiles where no individual is damaged by the revelation that this profile is a racist alt account.
In my little life, I've rarely seen or been involved in an argument when both sides are pointing fingers at one another come to any satisfactory conclusion.
Eddie doesn't have to engage in any conversation, but to say (if he wants to) that he feels sorry for them to have the need to feel, or express themselves in such a manner. Calling these types out as animals doesn't achieve much at all. never will.
