McClure thinks we’d take Gibbs back on the cheap. Both he and Hutchy still reckon we are a fair way off it. That’s about it
Sam's been a breath of fresh air on FC; as has Eddie, Kaine, Ross, and Lloydo, and they aren't even newbies. I'd like to see the Carro Arrow segment replaced by a segment called McClure's Manure. Change is good.

Still haven’t had hardly any decent discussion about the way we’ve been going over the past two weeks, not much in-depth discussion about our wins... Afl360, On the Couch, Footy Classified pretty much given us doughnuts, just on Crucified after the Melbourne loss with all of them sinking the boots in again... Caro stated...
“Cripps had been sold a plan that’s a failure, he was sold a rebuild that hasn’t worked“
“I’m going too be brutally honest here the policies put in place by Stephen Silvagni haven’t worked”
“They chose the wrong coach in the first place and we don’t know if they’ve chosen the wrong or right coach as we speak”
“It must be terribly frustrating to be sold a vision by a recruiting team and football team that hadn’t come to fruition “
Yeah completely agree. As a generalisation, the media focuses on losses and how bad they are, more than wins. No talk about the great performance of the Saints - just how bad Richmond were. Similar for Port and West Coast. It also doesn’t help that our two wins have coincided with a positive COVID test from McKenna and a redrawn fixture / future fixture issues with the QLD government announcement. Would like to see some analysis about how we’re playing tactically given we can’t attend the games and see behind the ball etc for ourselves.

Ouch.

Why put yourself through the pain?

Until they come up with a show that has Robbo front and centre offering his views on the game then, I’ve got say it, all else is rubbish.

I only watch The Bounce and avoid all others. I prefer a laugh and can recommend its comic value.

To be fair, they haven't been great wins.

Sure, it's good to get over Geelong at Kardinia, but we nearly bottled it and were lucky to get away with the win (even though we clearly deserved to win). We weren't great against a very average *, and even though we dominated, were only able to escape with a 1 point win.
We're currently 2-2 with 92.3% at 12th on the ladder.

Have a good win against the Saints on Thursday, and go on with it over the next few weeks, and we'll start getting the positive stories.

How do you stomach Sharni Layton?? I can’t watch that show now she’s on it

They need to either have Bernie Vince on every week or bring back Tegan Higginbotham...

don't you fall for that "oh, he's an idiot so anything he says is bullshit" routine, gatorade.........for the life of me I'll never get this media hatred around here
Nah, not so much that, just that they three - Lloyd, Cornes, Hutchinson - wouldn't have any idea how Gibbs is traveling, let alone if he's done.

They're paid to have extreme opinions on television, not to be nuanced. There's also the fact that by nature I am somewhat contrary.

True,

In fact I'm not that fussed if we get any recognition. The meedya are dull and sycophants mostly. Better analysis on here and some social media options. Sad that the Carlton Show is no more, but the "footy shows" esp fox are very self serving. Have a look at the ad on fox with Hill as a DJ. What a crock, as if anyone watches those show because of the "fox footy team" and don't get me started on the match day commentary.

Maybe a few more wins over the upcoming weeks might shift the opinions of the media, I’m actually not all that fussed we still have a bit to go until we’re taken a bit more seriously, and rightfully so...

I’m not sure why, funny enough i do record all AFL related shows to watch, even though i can’t cop many of them or the so called experts on them too, I reap what i sow...

Habit.

I used to watch all the footy content I could, read every scrap and every bit of information I could. Started out with Peter Roebuck's articles in the Age, before branching out online as I got free time and it eventually lead me on here.

Eventually, it got too tiring following it all coupled with living. You got to set boundaries. I barely read any footy stuff outside this website, and while I watch all the games if I can it's not obsessive like it used to be. Learning to live with footy instead of being obsessed and driven by it, if that makes sense.

Yeah your probably right, not sure why the somewhat lack feedback should be a big deal, just looking for a bit of recognition of sorts I guess...

I’m trying, it’s a bit of a battle a times...

Not a fan of the media sensationalism, if it's balanced, I remember it, unfortunately it is just in the now

Although, I don't see Carlton being portrayed any different to sides that have struggled like we have in the past 5 odd years

I look at the lineup for the football show that 9 run on Sunday morning - what a really sad bunch
I dont bother with any show apart from Offsiders on ABC.
Mangarook was good
I have the game commentary on 7 and fox on mute, everytime they mention their "expert commentary team" on Seven , I get excited thinking that they have got a new team in .......
As for Caro - hates Carlton and is intimidated by SOS and isnt skillful enough to get over it.
