All this talk about the weather has me thinking, (won't be anywhere near as wet as some are making out by the way) which of the following lists comprising the best contested ball/wet weather masters from each team would you prefer?

Hawthorn
1. Luke Hodge
2. Brad Sewell
3. Sam Mitchell
4. Shaun Burgoyne
5. Jordan Lewis

Sydney
1. Josh Kennedy
2. Keiran Jack
3. Ryan O'Keefe
4. Jude Bolton
5. Dan Hanneberry/Craig Bird

To me it's pretty self explanatory. Not only do we have the most capable inside players, our deficiencies (isolation in defence) are negated by the atrocious conditions forecast. Our superior foot skills mean that if we struggle to hit targets, Sydney will not be able to hit the side of a barn. We have a much more dangerous forward line and the last time I checked games were won by the team that scored the most. If anyone can justify how they think Sydney will kick a score greater than Hawthorns I'm happy to hear it. In the meantime I am looking forward to a 30pt win.

While I agree with all you have posted, I would still prefer it more on the dry side...Go you good things!!!!

Next time you see him why don't you ask him how his foot is and whether or not it's true that he injured it during the Adelaide game? Actually don't bother asking him, he knows nothing.
He stated in a TV interview after the game that he got stomped on. No need to ask him.

If you get the weather down there tomorrow what we are getting here is shocking! Strong winds, blowing the heavy pouring rain across the roads, just sweeping down the road, thunder, talk about winter, not spring!
You just can't see across the road, it is so heavy, there is no way they can a kick a goal with this weather,it is atrocious! Freezing outside too.Couldn't have a worse day for finals.:mad:I think it will snow up in the grampians!!

What do you guys reckon the break up of the crowd will be?
Im thinking 40% Hawks- 25% swans the rest theatre goers.. who will probably be cheering the swans but not as loud.

Just like Arctic Park...Will suit us fine.
I'm wearing my long johns :)

I actually think we can break them open at some stage, despite their famed 'fighting spirit'.

We need to be on early so we aren't chasing tail all day but if half way through the second we are in front or thereabouts, then I think sometime between then and 3/4 time we will have a match winning burst that will break their spirits. They are a great fighting side but this is a GF and we have more big game experience than they do. I think if we get a sniff and start hitting the scoreboard that we could see them drop (or us lift) and put a match winning lead on prior to 3/4 time.

Here's hoping.

100% spot on and this is exactly what happend in the Semi finals last year againts them..

Dunno about you folks, but my guts are churning and burning with nerves. I actually feel ill.

Not on your own, Roddy! Has been an unbearable week.

Can't wait for the morning.. I'm confident, but not over the top. Just reckon the boys have been building to this and yesterday at Waverly they looked calm and ready.

Feel really bad for Murphy, must be awful to be ommitted from a GF side twice. I actually agreed a bit with what King was saying on 360 regarding our tactics. I'll still be a tiny bit confident if it Swans lead by 3 goals or under at HT, because as we've seen all season and said numerous times in this thread, we have the fire power to come back hard. For the sake of my sanity, and his sake generally, I hope schoenmakers better learnt last week that standing up for team mates means sfa if you shove someone in front of an umpire. If both sides play to their potential, it will be an epic match. God I don't think i'll sleep tonight, I feel sick and twitchy already. Or maybe it's the 4 coffees I've had today.

We had Whitecross, Osborne, Bateman, Guerra, Murphy and Bailey that night.
Tomorrow we'll have Roughie, Ellis, Young, Savage, Gunston and Bruest.

Swans have pretty much the same team.

In Richmond now, and if the weather is any thing like this tomorrow then faaaark.

Windy, storm clouds and starting to rain . my weather app shows sun peeking through the clouds for tomorrow so I'm hopeful.

I think the crowd will be Hawks 40% to 20%. I'm planning on wearing exactly the same outfit as I did when we last played the Swans tomorrow, even though the pants I wore have a hole in the backside.

Some wins and losses in that -
Goo is a HUGE out.
WhiteX is a big out.
Murph is unlucky but Hodge will play his role I think and can also shift forward or mid if needed
Bateman is done unfortunately, as we know.
Ossies might have struggled with Breust in the team but might have knocked poppy out of his sopt if fit. Who knows?
Bailey is just not getting a look in with Hale and Rough doing so well.

Roughie is a big in (If he fires) and is so valuable around the ground as an extra on baller
Gunston is a good in and could be a major player. Needs to work his way into it with Franklin in the side.
Ellis is a good in if he plays the whole game, he is so calm and smart with the footy
Breust could be the match winner if you ask me - He slides under the radar and with Junior Boy in he rarely gets the defensive tag. He could have 3 goals on the board before anyone realises what has happened or if he gets the finals yips (which he has had in the past) he could have 3 or 4 points up before anyone blinks.

I was just as a skill session the team did at Waverley, if anything only Young MAYBE looked a touch proppy when he came off at the end.

But they looked up for it, a little tense and focused but up for it. :thumbsu:
