That was probably just one of the Dogs fans on this board naming players off their injury list. This is weird. From the Wikipedia entry about the Murray Bushrangers:
The Bushrangers have produced some of the current elite Australian Football League players through the AFL Draft including Daniel Cross, Brett Deledio, Steele Sidebottom, Steve Johnson, Jarrad Waite, Kayne Pettifer, Justin Koschitzke, Hamish McIntosh, Barry Hall, Fraser Gehrig, Ben Mathews, Steven King, Robert Campbell, Alipate Carlile, David Mundy, Shannon Byrnes & Laitham Vandermeer
Good of Mrs Vandermeer to keep this list of current elite AFL players up-to-date, but where is Clayton Oliver?
I honestly find it amazing so many want to go to bat for Collective Minds.Plenty of submissions throughout the comment sections on various Eddie Betts posts today (all 7AFL, of course)

I’m still mystified as to how and why they thought they had a remit to make everyone better husbands and fathers anyway?I honestly find it amazing so many want to go to bat for Collective Minds.

Yeah I don’t like that aspect. Move past it Eddie. Why should he? However convenient it might be for others. So many comments, so few brain cells between them.
The absurd thought that because it was an arbitrary amount of years ago he either had to go public with everything immediately or never mention it again because it no longer counts after insert amount of time here
Personally, I'm actually disgusted by these comments.Plenty of submissions throughout the comment sections on various Eddie Betts posts today (all 7AFL, of course)

Even after reading comments from betts, it's obvious this had such an effect on him that he felt let down as a person, and them felt it with the whole aboriginal group of players that went through it.Yeah I don’t like that aspect. Move past it Eddie. Why should he? However convenient it might be for others.
I agree. I did ask myself whether that support your team culture would encourage me to invent excuses - media are sensationalist - club has apologise - Betts is just seeking money.Personally, I'm actually disgusted by these comments.
Adelaide fans (not all obiously) can be a breed of their own... but there's just something about reading this that thinks racism is so entrenched.
The fact that betts is talking about how it impacted him not only as a person, but an aboriginal man, and the impact it had on all of them. I just find it so concerning that we have had such widespread attention to issues like this.
* me, if this was at melb I'd be pretty keen on widespread resignations/sackings. There's no way I could stick up for the club in the same situation. Adelaide can't keep shooting themselves in the dick with all this camp saga, the fallout from walkers comments, and widespread crowd problems reported over the past several years.
How'd you feel about the bullying and drug use reports (sensationalist claims) from earlier this year and the preseason?I agree. I did ask myself whether that support your team culture would encourage me to invent excuses - media are sensationalist - club has apologise - Betts is just seeking money.
I don’t think so. I would still be horrified.
The Adelaide case is a bit different though. I agree with you re: our own shit from earlier this year, but the camp is an example of the club/Collective Minds actively and systematically going out of their way to do all of this insane stuff thinking that it’s going to improve output. They don’t even have anything to hide - it was all deliberately planned and done at an organisational level, not an individual one. How'd you feel about the bullying and drug use reports (sensationalist claims) from earlier this year and the preseason?
Whilst not seeming to be as bad, or as having as widespread an impact on a group, they're certainly not behaviours that I'm comfortable to let slide just because we're winning.
This situation is probably different because there are confirmed accounts from more and more impacted people that make it hard to deny. Or are we all just inventing excuses?
Betts said last night that it wasn't just an aboriginal issue. While there were aspects of the camp that were deeply disrespectful to aboriginal culture and the aboriginal players there were other aspects of the camp like the initiation ceremony that affected non-aboriginal people just as much as they did him. This is about the Adelaide Football Club recklessly putting their players in the hands of an group who were flat out abusive in many different ways.Even after reading comments from betts, it's obvious this had such an effect on him that he felt let down as a person, and them felt it with the whole aboriginal group of players that went through it.
There's so much of this camp that just stinks, and other than pyke and Burton, the rest are still there
I dislike the club immensely after growing up in SA, so I'm all for them continuing to change nothing and have a shithouse culture.
That said, they are setting a pretty ordinary precedent for their membership/supporter base.
Oh yeah, I 100% agreeBetts said last night that it wasn't just an aboriginal issue. Seeing this in particular has really been grinding my gears. Why would Eddie not talk about a huge controversy and something that's clearly had a significant impact on him, in his autobiography? God forbid he sells copies of his book!I agree. I did ask myself whether that support your team culture would encourage me to invent excuses - media are sensationalist - club has apologise - Betts is just seeking money.
I don’t think so. I would still be horrified.
Couldn't give a flying **** if the coach was getting on the bags with the boys. Not like it doesn't happen elsewhere, part of culture these days unless the media wants to turn you into a scape goat. 0 ****s given about that. How'd you feel about the bullying and drug use reports (sensationalist claims) from earlier this year and the preseason?
