Franklin never plays well the week after kicking a big bag, and he's not got a great record at AAMI Stadium either, so i wasn't surprised. Good to see him get a run in the midfield, was unstoppable.

he has got some pace for a big guy hasn't he

still more dangerous as a forward will still kick 100 you'd say

Bock beat Franklin all day - he was the man to beat Buddy - excellent job - prevented Franklin from having any real opportunities. But the only reason Franklin will get any suspension is because of how soft the AFL is... he intended to hip and shoulder the chest but bloody Ossie tackled the Crows guy and Buddy hit him a little high. Ideally and if you look past the loathing of Buddy... he should get nothing more than a reprimand/reduced points by accepting early guilty plea (as perhaps Burton should have gotten - I dunno as I didn't see the incident in question).

But I'm sure a few of you will shoot me down and say I am just protecting Buddy.... but you think you were unlucky with Burton... try being a Hawthorn player in the line of fire this year - you don't get a very fair adjudication or leniancy as afford some players (Goodes anyone?). We have to live with that, but it just wouldn't be right for Buddy to go for that.

This is probably the most sensible post I have ever read from an opposition supporter on another teams forum:thumbsu:

Mate, I was sitting about 20 meters away, Burton took about 3 steps and hit him with no pace with Slattery taking an epic dive.

Exactly, it was stupid because Burton hit him with no force at all really, he sort of just arrived and decided to give him more of a shove or a push to the head than a hit. Franklin was stupid for trying to hip and shoulder Doughty in the chest, it would take a minor miracle pretty much not to hit Doughty in the head. But hey, its history, I couldn't care less as its not as if we get to play the Hawks next week.

I agree that I couldn't care less about Franklin's hit as it was hardly vicious and did no permanent damage, I'd much prefer Simon Black or Johnno Brown rubbed out for this week!

But that Hawthorn bloke is carrying on like Burton is a Pickett like sniper which he's not, he's just an idiot.

My Summary:

- Don't know how we won that one, thought the Crows had the better for most of the night
- Bock was Adelaide's best and clearly beat Buddy when he was playing on him (unfortunately for the crows, he wasn't in the last quarter and Buddy had a large say in the eventual Hawks victory).

Now...the buddy report. I've been reading many posts trying to compare to the Burton, Murphy and Burgoyne incidents', but there is one clear difference...

...Buddy was trying to bump the man with the ball and the tackle was the deciding factor in him being hit....

...all the other, the player ignored the ball and went purely for the man...front on.

Clear difference and if he gets suspended it's a joke.

Unfortunately that's a pretty good indication that he'll be suspended ;)

Also, does anyone else think that the Fraklin hit is a bit like Roo's hit on Selwood back in 2005?

We all know Carey is a New South Welshman, you guys try to claim him more than us. And Franklin's dad was a vic, we'll claim him. Also, the best ever is still Lethal Leigh Matthews.

We all know that Shane Crawford is a South Australian except those in Victoria.

Regarding Matthews, whilst he was very good, we had better in South Oz called Robran and Ebert. And they weren't thugs.

How did he not get a week.

Little Burger got 3 weeks for a love tap to a head, Franklins was not as bad, but still it deserved at least a week. If the AFL is going to be pricks about this stupid rule they should atleast be consistant.

Incorrect. Crawford is a New South Welshman too. As for your other piont, not worth replying to and clearly a humourous joke on your behalf.
