I wonder if Woodville supporters blame Ports for the death of their club.

I have always blamed the merger of West Torrens, (a founding member club of the SANFL (albeit a broke one)) and Woodville on the SANFL's thought of rather than looking after their own clubs they would rather throw money at a new club and legal costs to stop Port entering the AFL.

So the SANFL and by subsequent, the Adelaide Football Club forced Woodville and West Torrens to merge.

Since saying all that, the SANFL can force Glenelg and West to merge for all I care.

Port has more members than all the SANFL clubs combined. And there are some of us (like myself) who may have been inclined to buy a membership/support after other SANFL fans did the same for the Maggies.

When you read articles like this and the comments from SANFL club staff and members alike it really does distinguish any goodwill that may have existed.

One last parting shot from cornes before Glenelg goes down the gurgler, well it's a good possibility anyway. In years to come we'll be enjoying life in the AFL being watched by 10m+ viewers from China and playing annual games in Shanghai, while Graham will be taking his girls to watch Port play at AO who by that time will be sick to death of their father's story of how he single handedly beat North in 1973 grand final.

Wrote somewhere on this forum a couple weeks ago in the lead up to the Sanfool vs vfl game that Cornsiez whole schtick for the last 30 years has been anti Vic and Anti Port. But it ain't 1990 anymore and he really is nothing but a caricature.
