Could be wrong, but I thought we forfeited such payments as one of the consequences of committing the heinous crime of wanting to be permitted to make the Port Adelaide nation whole again.
i concur i thought the same

The SANFL motto - "No good deed goes unpunished". Save them money by consolidating costs across the Port clubs - reward take even more from us. You just know the reward for reconciling them and SACA after 40 years and having to drag the crows to AO is they'll get rewarded with the first game there. Count on it. :(

We must've also forfeited a few things, including a Port Adelaide flag sitting atop the southern corporate boxes at Football Park along with all the other SANFL club flags. 'Cos there ain't one there.

Fair dinkum? Those petty *****.

A fool, certainly no Jeff Kennett. He was the local Liberals Gillard stabbing the successful election winner in the back. And like she will, he rightly got what he deserved for it in the end.

Remind me how Tony Abbott came to be the leader of the Liberal party?

So's Joe Hockey. Nyerr nyerr, we win!

Above: The same logic used in 90% of political arguments.

Yeah it's not worth going into, the Port board would have a better chance of sorting out the issues at the snafl and this country quicker than anyone at West Lakes or in Canberra...

ps Joe Hockey is big boned.

It should also be mentioned that Rowey had no actual evidence to base all this on but he ran with the "story" anyway.

That's his MO. Come out with some over the top outlandish 'rumour' run with it as fact while both he and GraGra run down Port, and then when its proves wrong a 10 second statement about it being good that its not the case. Then of course continue to field calls about the original sensationalism.

Crows rumour: "We have to double-check with everyone from Eddie Hocking to Steven Trigg before we can say anything, but potentially a huge story down at Crowland"

Port rumour: "Wowee, listen to this!!!..."

Don't assume that because I am wealthy I am racist.
I was a little concerned to be honest when you picked me up from the airport in this though;

whenever they dribble crap like this I think back to the following: http://rightsideva.blogspot.com.au/2008/02/ten-men-go-out-for-dinner-who-pays-what.html

Unfortunately for us, and to a much lesser extent the crows, the cheaper diners (SANFL clubs) want to maintain their standard of living, even though the amount of tax we are paying (cost to field AFL sides) keeps rising.

I'm sure someone with a bit of time on their hands could reword to more closely align to the SANFL setup.

This is a very interesting entry, I like it :thumbsu:

lol the amount of times they have done that now is laughable

Well they are journalists - the names of the players both start with a 'C' - that should be enough to identify each individual.

Had to laugh at this attempt by Controversial to raise controversy about Boak's contract.

Controversial
The much-sought-after midfielder is yet to put pen to paper on a new contract, despite instructing his manager, Tom Petroro, to work a deal.
Controversial

So he hasn't signed after this was confirmed on Monday? Wow must be having second thoughts ...

Back on yesterday's 5AA show for a moment, the pair were discussing Travis Boak's potential contract worth briefly before going to Leigh Matthews, with Cornes suggesting as our highest paid player he'd probably be commanding around 600k a year.
Matthews, listening in on the conversation, came on and said "did I hear you guys right? Travis Boak being worth 600k? What's he done to show he's worth that sort of money? He hasn't exactly set the world on fire during his time in the AFL".
Cornes mentioned his best and fairest last year, with which Matthews responded "in a bottom team". No mention of his top 10 Brownlow finish from anyone.
Matthews then went on to say that Boak was one of those guys lucky enough to be "in the right place at the right time", when a tussle for his signature artificially inflated his contract value.
3 premierships with a list that could have coached itself, massive salary cap concessions, and Matthews is saying Travis is a beneficiary of being in the right place at the right time??? Sheesh!

What surpises me is that there 'shirely' should have been some comment that we are lying about not offering Boak the captaincy.
