Surely the AFL wouldn't allow a pro cows crowd if it was to happen would, surely not! surely. We need to campaign hard as a club to make this right before it happens.

I'll be mighty pissed off If I lost my seat to a filthy cows fan who's club doesn't even deserve to play finals and be forced to watch the game from the nosebleed section.

Yeah, that analogy only works when you actually deserve to get something. They won't get what they deserve because they have to rely on others loosing to reach the finals.

How can a side with 10 wins deserve to make the finals and deserve a home final and deserve a bigger split in the crowd attendance? ******* idiots can't even copy us properly.

They don't deserve any success because they can't come up with any original sayings...........

Don't worry: they won't even be playing. Surely they couldn't be so lucky, that ALL possible scenarios work in their favour this week. Hopefully the Pies defy logic and shut the door by beating Hawthorn.

Sando in the cowvertiser :

"Unfortunately our options were sitting at home injured, you know: Kyle(Hartigan), Sam(Shaw) and Andy Otten.

The dream team.

Is he talking about the Crows Reserves 10 goal loss to Norwood or the actual loss to Norf Melb?
I don't see any players there that would make an impact at AFL level.

Might have also helped if there hadn't been 6 players(excluding the sub) who touched the ball less than 10 times. And if their(alleged) best player had had more than 4 touches in the second half.
Yeah that sounded so dumb that even Stupid had a go at him for it.

Unfortunately there is no such thing as a "home final". Although with the allocation of the Geelong v Freo Qualifying final last year to Simonds Stadium it could be construed as such. I doubt this would have happened if Geelong were playing a Victorian side.

The concept that exists is the right of a higher ranked team not having to travel interstate to play a final. That's bad luck if you're drawn to play the one other side that resides in SA. Tickets are allocated to members on a pro-rata basis, you're just not going to get 30,000 Victorians traveling for a final here, so some of the full allocation is returned for use by the home state's team.

It's a prospect that faces more Victorian teams than us. If Collingwood 8th play North Melbourne 5th (by example) at the MCG then Collingwood would probably get access to 75% of the tickets based on membership count. These wouldn't all be taken up if it was played at the MCG, so some would be "returned" to the Kangaroos members, but it'd be a 65-35 or more pro-Collingwood crowd despite them not being at "home".

This makes the random "who do you support" survey for SMA members allocation to the Crows even more insidious. They get more of these on some questionable basis, and they also get more finals tickets.

The only guaranteed way for us to get more finals tickets is for us to have more memberships. If the AFL counts one game $50 minimum spend members as members, I'd contemplate buying one of these in addition to my existing ticket.

I am hoping that philreich is correct. You'd even think WCE winning would be enough.......but the door would be ever so slightly ajar for the Camry's. Who knows, they've been kissed on the D more than once this season with results falling the right way for them.

North. Although with players like Jenkins, Talia and Cameron(although he kicked 2 goals) going missing for long portions of the match any change may have been welcome. But bemoaning the loss of Shaw is a bit like saying we are missing Ah Chee.

But how do the SANFL use their "who do you support" survey to work out who goes for who? To listen to some Glenelg supporters you'd think Glenelg supporters were totally against us and for the cows but they were one of the teams who voted against the introduction of the cows.

Buying the extra $50 membership seems a good idea. I was contemplating upping my membership for finals priority next year but I don't want to change my seat. Maybe an extra $50 membership to give us more seats in finals could be bought. I assume that one of these is not a reserved seat but just GA so that you are not taking anyone's seat and we can still have our record attendances.

I'd be watching the AFL's definition of member - given the creativeness of some clubs, they may in future allocate shares on only certain types of member - 11 games for example. But the close off is late - there'd be plenty of time to assess. It would only work if 1,000's of us did it.

If the club was smart - and was confident of the minimum membership level to be considered a "member" for finals ticket allocation purposes, they could have an add-on in the membership renewal kit adding a $50 one-gamer :) (or whatever it needs to be) - If 10,000 people took it up they'd bank another half a million and they'd add 10,000 memberships.

Per your question, I recall there was a question, which SA AFL club do you support. They would have counted the total returns (not all of which were) and used that to pro-rate the 8,000 SMA memberships.

Ridiculous, SMA members have access to 11 games for each club - but each club receives no money from them. I was transitioned to this as part of the move from AAMI, but wish to move to Ultimate Power next year if I can. That inventory of 8,000 SMA tickets should be the only revenue the SANFL get from football at AO in my opinion. Either that or they keep some F&B but reduce the number of SMA memberships and free up those tickets to be sold as PAFC / AFC products.

Looks like cRowie and Bone are in for bonuses

ADELAIDE

Nova Entertainment

A good duopoly result for NE today in Adelaide:

  • FIVEaa has improved by nearly a point to 11.4% overall, this has given the station a narrow lead over ABC891.
  • The growth was driven by Drive and Evenings.
  • Traditionally, the performance of FIVEaa’s drive show is linked to how the Crows and Power perform; particularly the Crows. So with the Crows an outside chance for the AFL finals, and Power in the finals, that’s good for FIVEaa - and the results show that.

I'm sorry cRowie and Bone(r), we've traced most of the increase to the 65+ demographic, there's no monetary bonus, but we've just received some great contra from our newest sponsors, Adelaide Dentures Pty Ltd & South Australian Incontinence Products Inc.
Looks like they must have surveyed more in the older group that favour the commercial radio stations that have that demographic listening to them. This is punctuated by Cruise's lift in ratings also. BTW, I did state commercial.

A home final is a home State final. The advantage is that you don't have to travel but that doesn't mean that your opponent has to travel.

.......

yeah, that's what I said ;)

I don't, I hope that Collingwood, Richmond and West Coast lose so that all the Crows have to do is win.

And then the Crows lose

Good and bad from Ed last night. In the pre-game when they were discussing our black and white night, someone asked why we weren't wearing prison bars. He was very quick to say "They're not allowed to. They have other jumpers they can wear". ******.

On the post game though, when they discussed the crowd number and AO, he said "and they still don't make any money from it". It's nice that the rest of the football world is starting to see what we're up against

It's nice others in the AFL are realizing what we have been up against for so long. But how will that/they help us?
Does Eddy care if Port gets bled dry by the sma sanfl cartel?

It will if his 'rich' club keeps feeding the equalisation fund in order to make us competitive.

Right so this is where I think MMM could be a much much better station.

A. get rid of KG, Jarman, Lewis and Nick Gill.

B. From a music point of view, include the 90's in their "Classic Rock" repertoire. Their core audience is 40-54, but their 25-39 audience is bigger than their 55-64 audience, meaning that the 90's are more in their sweet spot than 60's/70's. Sure play the classics from that era, but in median of the their biggest market segment a 47 year old today was still only 27 in 1994.

By a point.
After a reversed free kick in their goal square and three 50-metre penalties, the third awarded as the siren blows.
But then, nobody would hear it.
