Who misses out Westy?

I don't think Bailey and Co have go the minerals to drop anyone.
Agreed Bailey and Co don't have the balls ..

If you look at the stats for the past 12 months and it doesn't make good reading

Head is on top 624 runs Ave 41
Carey 464 runs Ave 35
Marsh 416 Ave 27
Smith 413 Ave 29
Labs 389 Ave 25
Khawaja 379 Ave 23
Green 302 Ave 50

So the ones in trouble are Labs and Ussie and if we go back further another 12 months to 2 years

Head still on top 1577 runs ave 43
Khawaja 1548 ave 40
Smith 1351 ave 38
Labs 1139 ave 31....thats 41 innings ...1 test hundred
Carey 979 ave 31
Warner 864 Ave 37
Marsh 819 ave 39
Green 622 ave 41

So the one that sticks out for me Tuggs...is labs...it's a consistent downward spiral ...41 innings 1 test hundred for a number 3 for australia....sorry he has to go

Khawaja under the pump but his previous year might save him...

You asked for changes.....Boland in for Haze....Inglis in for labs......and if mitch is cooked can't bowl Webster in

I think Sydney will be okay as he is facing the best bowler in the world right now...and Sydney is young

team
Ussie

Smudge
Inglis

Boland for Haze is a given.

I still don't think they will make any unforced changes.
And if they do, they probably flick new Mc Sweeney for Konstas.

Cummins already has come out crying over criticism over George Baily.

Agree. I dont think Inglis is anywhere near it tbh.
Webster should definitely come in for Marsh. He bowled 2 overs after we lost a seamer and is a walking wicket with the bat. Alas, I do t see them making the chamges

Where would you rate Ashwin amongst all time spin bowlers

Obviously Warne and Murali are in their own category, untouched.

Then next on wicket tally it is Kumble, Ashwin and Lyon (debut same year as Ashwin, and has managed to play 30 additional tests). Ashwin has the better average than those two, but fewer wickets (Lyon will overtake him shortly).

Then a further rung down you have Herath, Harbhajan and Vettori, who I would rate Ashwin above quite easily.
If you're looking at all-time, then I think you'd also be comparing Ashwin with Underwood, Swann, Bishan Bedi among finger spinners. Those are hard comparisons.

It's even harder to compare with wrist spinners - Grimmett, O'Reilly, MacGill, peak Abdul Qadir or Yasir Shah.

It really is amazing that India had both Ashwin and Jadeja at the same time. There are comparable spinners, but they are both far better batsmen than anyone else in that conversation.

Have to keep backing McSweeney in. Selectors made their bed and should have to lay in it for the series. This keeps Usman safe...for now.

I think it's Marsh who deserves to have a spell. Picking an AR who can't bowl is beyond the pale. He has been getting out in troubling ways too. Give Webster a bash.

Boland for Haze is a no brainer.

If Head does have an issue Inglis is next cab of the rank and I hope he goes well.

Labs and Smith still sacred cows but surely the clock is ticking loudly. Dropping Marnus might be the best thing to happen to him tbh. Smithy is getting sad to watch. Fair play to him for making a ton but he'll be out inside 20 balls more often than not with the way he starts these days.

Should hopefully get the Bison back at some stage too. Mitch is struggling but he'll still cart the domestic attacks IMO.

Hardie too

You can't complain if you've been given 3 Tests and your highlight is a gritty 39.

But Khawaja!

Yeah, but credits do actually matter. Proven performer versus new boy. It's a fair enough call.

Hopefully we get to see Konstas in the BDT.
I don't think it's fair.
If you're just looking at performance, McSweeney has scored more runs at a better average and faced more balls.
Both crap TBF.

Uzzie is 38 and also a liability in the field.

If you're going to drop an opener for Konstas, drop the 38 year old.

Assuming it's Konstas that comes in.
Would Inglis be a sneaky?

If the only changes are Boland for Haze and McSweeney for Konstas we deserve to lose.

I love the Bison but he should be out - can't bowl and out of form.

If they wanted to change up the openers Khawaja has been having a 'mare and is cooked in the field.

Labuschagne has been kissed on the dick yet again. The bloke who should be in his spot has been thrust into opening and is about to be BBQ'd by the selectors. Everyone else in the top order being out of form is spreading the scrutiny.

Australia squad: Pat Cummins (c), Travis Head (vc), Steve Smith (vc), Sean Abbott, Scott Boland, Alex Carey, Josh Inglis, Usman Khawaja, Sam Konstas, Marnus Labuschagne, Nathan Lyon, Mitchell Marsh, Jhye Richardson, Mitchell Starc, Beau Webster
Will suck obviously if this keeps him out of BBL, but man it's good to see Jhye finally back in a test squad.

I suppose the answer is obviously yes, given he's been picked, and also he played a Shield game recently.
He nearly died giving a high five, I think it's a very odd selection. Obviously love him as a player and want him fit and firing.

Maybe Torz can shed some light?

Also can you confirm you deliver a good Sweet Chin Music Torz ?

Mcsweeney hard done but with Bison/lab out of form and Smith getting closer to the end he’ll have another opportunity soon in his preferred role. Just has to make sure the wheels don’t fall off like they did with blokes like Cartwright, patterson and maddinson
