Past games mean nothing really. If we had lost 20 times in a row to Sydney it wouldn't change the circumstances of the game.
not sure about that 7 straight wins especially given the coaches and coaching styles of both clubs remain indicates a trend.

one or two wins straight yeah ok but 7 well thats an ownage

I think Presti should take out hefty life insurance next week because Hall is likely to just lose it ala Unkie Moe(when Moe opens Unkie Moes family feedbag and the little girl complains about the cold Sodie) after Presti owns his arse.

Hall just may kill him right there on the ground.

I thought it was the last 9.

Anyway, if we're going by stats, Sydney haven't lost a home game this year, and that includes Hawthorn and Carlton.

We have to avoid walking into games thinking it's going to be a cakewalk. Do I have to remind everyone of the nightmare that was ANZAC Day?

how many of those games were at telstra stadium? just hawthorn yeah?

we should beat sydney this year, and the last 7 is compelling reading

Hall is gonna be like a kitten.
Not that means he will be any less likely to kick some goals.
The dumb brute actually plays better when he's not playing up to his tough image(don't tell him that though...lol)

I reckon we are definitely underdogs whichever way the odds fall.
We have yet to play a good tight defensive game against quality opposition and we have a full squad back so this is our chance to build on a couple of good wins.

Hawthorn and WCE.

Yes, we should beat Sydney. Not disagreeing with you. We also should've beaten Adelaide and Essendon.

Just be cautious, that's all. We're Collingwood, anything's possible.

What difference does that make to us?

I mean, us winning 7 in a row against Sydney is blatantly relevant, considering that both teams are basically employing the same game style, with the same coaches and mostly the same players as they were for the last few games.

But Sydney can win every game in the season and I'll still back us to beat them because we have the wood over them.

WE have beaten Sydney at Telstra/ANZ Stadium the last 3 times we played there. On a bigger ground I would back the pies because our pace, high midfield rotations and boundary hugging style all play merry hell with the Sydney game plan. While a very solid team, Sydney are not very adaptable. Their style works or it doesn't, there doesn't seem to be much they can do to change it.

No real change in team personnel either from the last few meetings. The only thing the pies should fear is complacency. That will lose it for us every time.

Massive game for both clubs, but probably moreso for the Swans.

They lose and they're two games out of the top 8 and their season is just about cooked.

I expect them to be very hard to beat, regardless of how well we've been going against them recently.

Well ever since i started going out with my now wife, we have NEVER lost to Sydney :D
DO NOT EVER GET A DIVORCE PRICEY

made that clear enough lmao

I would kill to have this game played at the SCG.
the smalle ground would force us to play more centrally as the wings are smaller, on that due to the fact of ANZ being such a skinny ground it does the same thing.

regardless we have beaten you at the G and the dome as well
Trends eventually turn/ break.:(

But lets just hope its a couple of years time:D
8 years the saints have over the blues, some trnds just keep on keeping on skade

I wish we had 8 years over the Blues. But that's another topic.

As everyone else has stated, I believe it will be a close one. I just hope we aren't inconsistent for this match. I bet we will either play really well or really bad in the first quester, then things will level out, then there will be a good battle for the last quarter. I think it will be good for Collingwood to play a good football match that is relatively close from a team that is on par with us. I think the last 3 games have been fairly one sided, and I'm not even going to take into consideration the St.Kilda and Blues games due to our undermanned side.

So: I'm hoping for an overall equal match that is entertaining for all four quarters. I'll be disappointed if we play inconsistently again, even if we do win. If we find that consistency, then we have a chance at the top 4 teams, IMO.

Correct me if i'm wrong. But we have played at Telstra Stadium for quite some time. I can't remember when we last played at the MCG. Ever since they have had Telstra Stadium as a footy ground we have always played them in the split round. It has only been the last couple of years that we have played Sydney twice during the regular season. Before those 7 wins remember we lost our previous 2 by 1 point and 1 goal. Hopefully the trend continues as we need to get as much wins as we can before the harder run at the end of the season

Sorry I meant the SCG.

Not saying i expect you guys to suddenly lose, but on past trends Brisbane have been our 5 year bitches (thats a looong time)

and they beat us this year.

I have no idea when was the last time Collingwood played at the SCG though i do know Collingwood played at the SCG in 1999 (Tony Lockett's 1300th goal) but im not sure if that was the last time.

Anyway the SCG is a fortress for the Swans. Even with our pathetic form of late the Swans are still extremely competitive at the SCG which suits our style of play more than any other ground in the AFL.

On another note Rhyce Shaw will get BOG next week. He has been in good form this season and i would love to see him go well against his former club (hopefully he has some tips on how we can beat you as well as Paul Roos needs every tip he can get).
