Hawthorn don't win today and the trading in of old blokes and lack of draft pick use or good 19 to 23 yo plyers on their list and the amount of 29+ players on their list will equal massive failure. Massive.

What they did will be right or wrong depending on today. Tough game footy.

Chappy for a year versus Siera for another year? Might go the Norm Smith medallist. Apart from our defensive, tackling game, the experience factor is the biggest missing link in our team. If Chappy and NDS were to walk into the best 22 and push some of our younger guys out, they know the level they have to step up to. No harm in that. If we have space in our cap this year, then go for it. Cant see the cost in improving our line up in 2014 through bringing in experience, knowing that our youngsters will be peaking as a group in about 3-4 years. It's not a big risk, as even if Chappys body broke down, he will still bring his knowledge and experience into the club off the field. His last game for Geelong would be a final, kicking 4 goals. Not exactly a ticket to the scrapheap.

Would be very happy with NDS, Chappy, and Docherty via FA/trade, then Luke and 2 kids in the draft, including Garlett as last pick if still available.

Don't agree with this at all.
 
I don't see how we can't have a crack in the short term whilst Boomer etc are around and also develop guys in the vfl and find those replacements through the draft for the long-term. We need to get at least one mature finals footballer to teach and instruct the young guys on the field.
I couldn't say that Grima, Firrito, Wells and Boomer are going to play every game. They may be rested on occassions or put in the sub role perhaps.
Maybe rotating some of the senior guys out every 4-5 weeks for a rest like Geelong have done, depending on where we sit on the ladder, would freshen them up by bringing in guys like Cam Delaney, Garner, BMac, Wood and LMac every so often, that would aid our future development.
But if the young guys are ready they'll be knocking down the door to get into the side anyway.
But I reckon we need another experienced finals footballer. Goddard has had an impact at Essendon. We need a similar teacher.
 
now that The Grand Final is over! What was Dalsanto's Decision staying or coming?:)
 
Could perhaps NDS wish to go to Essendon to play alongside Goddard again?
I personally couldn't imagine why any player would want to walk into that mess of a club.

so you saying we should have kept sholly for one more year? His last game for North Melbourne was a final, kicking 7 goals.
