  4. A federal ban on “price gouging” for groceries
  5. Negotiating to lower Medicare’s drug costs
  6. Expanding tax credits for children
  7. Eliminating taxes on tips

Trump Economic Proposals

  1. Import tariffs
  2. Corporate tax cuts
  3. Deregulation (especially of energy exploration)
  4. Reducing Federal Reserve Board’s independence
  5. Eliminating taxes on tips and Social Security retirement benefits

How can anyone (especially the non rich) look at these and vote for a Trump administration!!

Who cares what colour his skin is, surely? You can hate a guy without judging his looks.
Its just a funny entrée before addressing the much more serious meal of how a stupid, venal, unstable man so lacking in any sort or character or a moral compass can be in charge of the most economic, political and culturally influential country on the planet.

It's asinine to suggest that those who despise him only judge him by his ridiculously clownish visage. My absolute distaste for the obvious conman pre-dates his run at politics by more than a decade. We've spent and should he win will continue to spend lots of time discussing his buffoonery and the divisive damage that he has wrought.

Unless we're also supposed to overlook those flaws in fools errand in search of all of the good things that he supposedly brings to the table.

Things that his supporters so easily do.

Win or lose today. My views of Donald J. Trump will not change one iota.

My TDS obviously runs very deep.

Trump has made mocking Adam Schiff's physical appearance a centre peice of his recent rallies.

He has repeatedly labled Schiff a "pencil neck" and a "watermelon head", comments that draw widespread applause from Trump's supporters at those rallies.

I may have missed it but I don't recall you ever condemning Trump when he routinely targets the inate characteristics of others.

I haven't seen that, that's shit form from Trump. I just think, when you're stooping to levels of criticising how someone looks, that's well beneath what should happen during political campaigns.

Yeah it's not like Trump hasn't done it consistently for about 9 years. Like, what?

Trump mocked the physical mannerisms of a disabled journalist during the 2016 campaign.

Surely you've seen that in the intervening 8 years?

Physical appearance? Not so much. More about their attitude etc as far as i'm aware. Anywho, I guess picking on people for their appearance is cool now.
Well, I'm not too sure how you've missed the multitude of comments (I could guess though). 2 seconds of google came up with the quotes below. I'm sure there's plenty more. As the bastion of impartiality I'm sure you'll decry these with the same vigor as you defend the orange man.

On Rosie O'Donnell

"Can you imagine the parents of Kelli ... when she said, 'Mom, Dad, I just fell in love with a big, fat pig named Rosie?'"

On Whoopi Goldberg

"She was so filthy, dirty, disgusting.

On Stormy Daniels

"I never liked horseface. That wouldn't be the one. There is no one. We have a great First Lady."

On Carly Fiorina

"Look at that face. Would anybody vote for that? Can you imagine that, the face of our next president?

On Heidi Klum

"Sadly, she's no longer a 10."

On Megyn Kelly

"Bimbo."

On Kim Kardashian

Asked if her butt is big: "Well, absolutely. It's record-setting. In the old days, they'd say she has a bad body."

"Does she have a good body? No. Does she have a fat ass? Absolutely."

Based on the policies put forward by the Democrats and the policies put forward by the Republicans, who would you choose to support?
I've already said I typically align more with conservatives than progressives, so based on policy, i'd vote for Trump, but really i'm voting for the GOP, as i'd likely vote for whoever the GOP candidate was, i'm not voting for Trump as a person.

I've literally said I don't agree with it. I don't like when Trump does it and I don't like when others do it. The above is all horrendous. I am agreeing with you, so no need to keep googling all the bad shit Trump has said. But I am saying that you folks in here shitting on Trump for his appearance is no different to Trump shitting on others, as posted by you.

As I've mentioned elsewhere, on one hand Trump styles himself as a representation of traditional masculinity and on the hand he wears copious amounts of make up.

I think for most people these two things are odds with each other and represent a significant contradiction.

If, as you say, it's not acceptable to mock that contradiction, what, in your mind, is an acceptable response?

If you're prepared to ignore incidents like Trump mocking a disabled person, in favour of policy, is that a moral failure on your behalf?

What goes around comes around Pugz89.

He is a terrible human being.

Literally everyone on TV wears make up. Does that make all male TV hosts feminine, because they wear make up? Seems a fair bow to draw imo. But, justify it however you like mate.

If the alternative was a perfect candidate, then probably. Luckily for me, Harris isn't a perfect candidate. Both have their flaws. In fact most people in this thread have conceded neither candidate are great candidates.

Does everyone who appears on television make a traditional version of masculinity central to their personality and political campaigns?

They don't and therefore no contradiction exists to mock.

Hang on, your morality is contingent on your political opposites presenting you with a perfect alternative and if that isn't available, and it never is, your morality disappears entirely?

When do your own choices become your responsibility?

Well it is kind of like the "let he without sin cast the first stone". You're saying me ignoring "incidents like Trump mocking a disabled person, in favour of policy," is a moral failure. I am only saying it is if the other candidate was someone who was perfect. Sure, Trump has done shitty things, but so has Harris, and Biden, and literally every other politician in the history of the planet. So moral failure is really a subjective thing.

It's interesting that you equate masculinity to only how someone looks. Anyway, I don't think we're going to agree here. Just going round in circles. Maybe better off not clogging the thread.

I’ll condense your paragraph into a single sentence answer: you support the Republican Party (led by Trump) and its policies.

I know why you are saying you aren’t supporting for Trump as a person. So you can avoid anyone challenging your views and say they are attacking the man.

But I’ll play along, so tell me what GOP policies you agree with?

Why do you apply a purity test to Harris and refuse to apply that same purity test to Trump?

That's fine but your first response was that he doesn't do it which is false.

There's a general penchant for MAGAs to excuse/ignore Trump's poor behavior, or even cheer it on, while lambasting others for the same.

I don't equate masculinity with how someone looks, Trump and his supporters do, hence the willingness to mock the. when he and they don't adhere to that maxim.

Look, I have a sort of grudging respect for people who are upfront about why Trump appeals to them.

A person who is prepared to say something along the lines of 'I like Trump because he despises the same people I do and he can get into a position where he can exact revenge on them on my behalf' does earn themselves at least a modicum of respect for their honesty.

Others continue to tie themselves in an endless series knots trying to justify their support but ultimately this isn't for anyone else but themselves.
