I bought that jumper in a club after season sale for my kid who was about 5 at the time. He tried it on and desperately wanted me to buy it - so I did. It is sitting in pristine unworn condition in a box somewhere.

We are simply saying that the AFL can't pick and choose if they want us to celebrate our heritage.

We wouldn't be wearing it this week though, so it's probably going to be worn in our next home game which is next week if I'm not mistaken. Better for the main promo to coincide with that actually being close rather than dragging it on

I am pretty confident a behind the scenes handshake agreement with the current Collingwood President for us to wear the prison bars in our home showdown each year has been made. Also think it will be not be publicised for reasons that need no explanation - at least until certain media celebrities fade away into nothingness.

In that case us choosing alternative strips from our AFL/SANFL strips for Heritage round makes a lot of sense. And avoids the repetitive shouty arguments that has bored everyone but Collingwood and us and takes the focus of the footy.

But I'm just guessing (and hoping).

We were one season removed from wearing the PB in a final against a big Vic team when this happened.

Bit different to the situation today when we had to fight tooth and nail to wear it vs the crows.

No. They made it clear that was only an agreement for a one off.

Which actually only reinforced the idea that they get to decide (and introduced the idea that we have to remunerate them for the privilege).
