When you look at it like that we're not going too bad, hopefully we don't have to wait 36, 50 or 52 years for our next flag or I'll be on the over 50's thread deceased BF keyboard warriors honor board by then.

Should Fitzroy's 8 flags be on premiership tallies?

Not to take the conversation off track but there's still a lot of ambiguity about which aspects of Fitzroy's history were inherited through the merger and which weren't.

I understand the legal aspects of that merger but reference to deeds of company arrangement and ACN seems faintly unsatisfactory when you are talking about the heart, soul and heritage of a footy club.

Jacob Allison. A player we have not had the likes of since Tim Notting. Apart from everything else, a couple of his kicks last night were sublime.

What a draft last year!!! Already 5 players that are in the team because they are in the best 22. 5 players that make it obvious that they will be serious contributors to making us relevant again. No wonder there is so much excitement around the club.

Rich starting to really play some tough aggressive footy. Maybe he is now benefiting from having some young guns around him taking the pressure off and freeing him up. We now have 3 very good kicks coming out of that backline in Rich, Witherden & allison opps forgot Cox ... lookin' good for the future

When he cut through the two bulldogs players and casual nailed the disposal, showed poise. He has speed and can effortlessly kick it 50, has been pretty impressive. We really nailed that draft.

Josh Walker. Seems to be finding his place in the team with him as an option either forward or back His time in the backline in the ressies was a huge help with his overall game. Now for Closey to get a run for the remainder of the season to see what he can do as well.
He gave us a reliable marking target, his workrate was good too. Hopefully that is now the level for Walker and he kicks on.

I like Allisons potential but sometimes he just relies too much on the 'kick it as long as possible' tactic. Has everything we lack though so hopefully he continues to develop into a more than handy running midfielder.

Better than the "handball it to the bloke standing flat footed next to you" tactic.:D In time he will get the pace and learn to weigh up his options better.

Wish this Fitzroy Bears w@#$er would just realise he was wrong about Daniel rich. He has played a great second half season. Bam bam must stay.

Actually this had been my knock on him watching him at junior level but I I've though his decision making to take the right option (short or long) has been pretty damn good for a guy in him first 2 games. One or two kicks sprayed but I think that was more skill execution than decision making.

In saying that though I've been genuinely impressed by the precision of his kicking in general- has used it damn well so far. Great height, speed and athleticism too could be a very tough match up moving forward.

I can see him playing a variety of roles too - wing, leading half forward/link man intercepting/rebounding defender. I can see him having hurt factor in all of the these positions.
