There appears to be a new level of civility on our board over the last couple of weeks.
Winning/competitiveness has that effect, as does the opposite unfortunately.

The mods changed all their passwords and now the majority of the posts in here are just us talking to each other through different logins. Good to see it was a popular decision

Almost be a shame if we don't win the wooden spoon now. The most positive wooden spoon year in history will be impossible.

I will have to redefine the aims for the rest of the year following a few more encouraging developments (ie Robbo signing, beating Ess and Carl). Now:

Secure federal funding for the new facilities
One more rising star nom (Berry ideally, and deservedly, maybe Allison)
Beat Suns and Kangaroos
Avoid the wooden spoon
Win the NEAFL
Continual improvement from potential keys like Walker, McStay, and Gardiner
Have a couple of players save their careers and make it impossible to trade or delist them. Thinking C Beams, Close, Harwood
Hipwood to kick a bag
Schache to get some confidence back and hit the pre season running
Extend McLuggage's, Witherden's, and Cox's contracts
Decent crowds for our final home games
A fully fit list (maybe minus Bell) to start the pre season
Trade down our first for a team desperate to pick Rayner for two top 10 picks
Have 3-4 bites of the draft cherry before having to match Ballenden
Trade in a first 18 player aged 21-26 (ie Cameron)
Strengthen our 2018 draft position - let the Giants win the next couple while we go about securing a squad for an extended 2020-2025 tilt
Port to lose their only final
Collingwood to extend Buckley's contract
Carlton to win the spoon
Essendon to once again secure no big trades thanks to the worst list manager in the comp overrating every one of their players
Exodus at GCS
Hawthorn to miss a freebie
Kangaroos to miss out on both Kelly and Martin
Tigers out in straight sets
Kelly to re-sign with the Giants
Lever to re-sign with the Crows
A non Victorian GF

I'll be happy with that.

As a post script - not too fussed with what happens with Rocky. Either he stays - great. Or he gets a big enough contract to net us decent compensation. I'm perhaps in the minority where I actually think if we get a pick after the first round we make out as bandits. A pick after our first is a pipe dream. We'll have additional mature support from Christensen and Robinson next year to support the young guys along with Beams and Zorko.
