Oh. Maybe what I heard was for 1990 and later. Incredible that Alex is doing it as a defender, not an inside mid, and I wouldn't put it past him to hit 12.
I think you're right if it's "AFL only", so yeah, 1990 and later. BRAB originally did say VFL/AFL.

Jacob Allison looked so natural as that link up player thru the middle. Someone posted that Cutler has to come in for him as Allo can't do the job yet, Not sure I agree - it may be rose coloured glasses but I see a better player already.

Premature elation. He certainly looks like he will be a player though. A 5th reason to love this year's Lions draft cohort (McInerney, Lyons and Hinge have looked handy, too!)

Do you remember when Geelong were doing their thing in '07, '09 and '11? The medjia would go on about 2/3 drafts that they nailed which built the core of their team. We could have that with '15/'16/'17/'18 being that for us.

Every year I come to BF and read totally OTT speculation that we are gunna nail it this season, trust us.

And every year I say, inwardly, naaah. Ain't happening.

Now, however, I see definite green shoots. We seem to have put the proper building blocks in place.

With so much talent in our first 22 and NEAFL sides, either extant or in prospect, it's only a matter of time. Keep pumping talent in and the end result is inevitable.

Maybe not next year, but very likely the year after, a bit like the late 90's, it'll all come together. Of this, I am confident.

My only reservation is our ruck situation. Our present set up won't take us to the top.

I hope to live long enough to see Eddie spew about how totally unfair it is, all those advantages shoved our way.

Come on mate, this is the positives thread, be positive. I hope in that short time, Eddie will be disgraced and become so irrelevant that we won't get to see/hear him spew about anything.
The goat pics have to come out one day

I just looked through the injury lists on AFL website and I can't remember when we had so few players out. Only Port has less players out
There it is. The KissKiss of Death

If there was some sort of value per injury index I feel like we'd be pretty high... Robinson, Christensen & Bell are amongst our most experienced. Throw in the obviously crippling injuries to Beams & Rocky

Reported, both of you. I'm unsure which is the worst crime TBH.

Bit unfair mate, he would be one of the best contributors to this board. POBT you can get rid of though, adds nothing.

Part of me cringes at the Buddy comparisons as those sort of things rarely end well, but if you just take it as a highlights package for enjoyments sake alone, its hard not to crack a smile and get excited. (Fwiw i think Hipwood will be a better mark than buddy.)

Love the last line from Browny in that clip.
"NOT TO PUT TO MUCH PRESSURE ON THE KID".
He is definitely one to be excited about.

That's a hell of a highlights package from a 2nd season 19 year old KPF.

From all reports we have got the "culture" sorted with a new coaching group and other off field staff, players re signing en masse and a general great vibe around the club. We need to get on field results before these gun kids start coming out of contract.

Southern clubs are going to come bloody hard with big money contracts and dangle them in front of the likes of Hipwood, Andrews, Witherden, McCluggage, Cox etc. etc.... Would be fantastic if McCluggage, Cox and Witherden joined Berry and extended their contracts before the end of the season.

NB- I am confident that we can turn things around reasonably quickly on field, 8-12 wins in 2018 please.

I dont think 8 wins is out of the question next year.
But it might be the jump from 8 to 12 or 13 wins that might be the hard part as we have seen with Melbourne and the Sts.
Consistency is the key, and although we are only seeing small signs I think we are starting to see some conststency in their game already, under Fagan.

So what you're saying is he is better than franklin. I agree. Lid officially off.
Certainly if his form and dash continues, he not only has value as a team contributor, but also provides a feature to put bums on seats. He is what people go to the footy to see, and something we've been lacking for a while. Richy was going to be that guy when he got plenty of ball and was cannoning 60m goals, but just isn't that anymore.
Eric will sell tickets and memberships, before we even start winning games. He's a bit exciting.

If he keeps developing this part of him as a package may be equal to what he produces on field. You put a few of those highlights together into some sort of ad as part of the membership drive and it would be hard not to get excited.
