Unbelievable. This guy ran 6.7km cross country in under an hour. Every hour. For nearly 5 days (108 hours). Superhuman.

Go back to the 19th Century Pedestrianism was a sport. People would walk non stop.

I think long distance runners are mentally ill
Even marathon runners are slightly loopy. When I used to train for half marathons, about a month out before tapering, we would run a full half or a bit more, finishing off with Anderson St. Waiting for the group would take about three hours on a Sunday morning.
The marathoners would go out for a 36 k run taking more than 5 hours. Pop there goes your Sunday. Ultra Marathoners are even more mental. The training takes so much time. I always fancied to run a marathon but kept myself to halfs. The training was just too time consuming and I knew full well that a marathon is not just two halfs stuck together.

Knee now totally f'ked, can't run a step, can barely walk 5 k's without a two hour icing afterwards.

I try not to run on the footpath or roads, it's pretty hard on your joints.

I did my washing about 4 hours ago, as I was finished and backing out who was on the road? Shirtless guy in shorts having a run on the road. So I expect that yep, joint issues in long term and sunburn in short term as I doubt he bothered.

As I got home, got a message from the hospital about the old man, zero context, just asked me to call them. Little suss as you know, he has a bed, and nurses, and I am you know, at home, and the primary contact is not myself as the sister works down the road from them. So I listen to the message and it starts off with so we moved him to a different hospital...

Wait, what? You pumping and dumping without informing anyone? WTF?

So I plug their number in, since they left one to call, and just as I was about to call, they call my mobile, again, not primary, secondary, use those files and common sense peoples. So after chat to confirm that yep, he's shifted suburbs and yep, it was done whilst I was doing my washing at 2:30pm on a Friday, they also couldn't give me a reason why it was done. Great success, makes me think when his bypass got infected afterwards it was probably them just forgetting some things and half arsing it but that's way healed at this point. Anyway...

Sister was on her way in so I call her and update, she was actually just parking at the hospital. She calls me back a little later how they straight deleted him from their systems, had to check the ward documents to confirm things, but we then knew where he was, in goddamn Broadmeadows.

Sister sees him, they haven't even set up the room yet, mind you this is like 2 hours after their call so 2 hours ago, they had him on file (yay, system works... kinda) she does her thing where gets directed left and she turns right then gets lost wandering around rooms to get directed to him after walking past him twice (is why I am the one they call I suppose...) they took my number from his phone as again, Epping gave them nothing, just yeeted him from that ward into an ambo and organised that shipment there so... apparently it's rehab oriented, I only learned that maybe 10 mins ago as she again got lost on the way back since road work diversions.

The tldr being where do you get off not informing next of kin and secondary contact medical wise when you shift a patient under your care to a completely different hospital? And, how much bullshit do I need to digest to have like 5 second messages about "a shift in hospital plz call" with zero context to not be entirely pissy with you and thinking this is a potential escalation based on yesterdays discussions?

Do better Northern.

Mate if you can walk 5 klm’s you’re killing it compared to many including myself. Both knees are bone on bone and I need a hip replacement and have a bursitis on the hip just to top it off. I walked my daughter down the aisle with crutches a few weeks ago that’s life. I walked up point Ormond hill this morning and thought how lucky am I and wtf how unlucky am I in the same short walk with crutches.

Anyway I’ll hopefully get the hip fixed early next year, knees are more problematic, Have you looked at synvisc I know a few people who swear by it. My sister and others I know have had knees replaced with a mixed bag of results unfortunately. Anyway there might be quite a bit you can do that will relieve some of that pain, I think from memory you’re pretty thin so that’s a bonus but cast your net wide you might get lucky.

My dad had his knee done, with the plan to have the second.
He was never comfortable on the new one, but also i'm pretty sure he didn't do the rehab with the physio properly.

Just went for a late night wander around the block, by block I mean quick walk around the pine trees to listen in on the live music over at the oval.

Saw, well, heard then saw ol mate ride along on his pushbike with passenger riding bitch having a good ol chat, I assume going to the skate park to screw around with. Knock off 2 from the ol former lab now halfway house of madness.

Went to finish the walk and thought, do I go and say hello to said live music or just go home, get towards that footpath break and from the bridge over the creek side heard some cussing and banging from a resident I assume, so decided to just go home instead.

Walked towards the alley to spit out at the bottom of where I live, and there's a house party and music going, all lit up outside on their joint, had to laugh as for 10:30 you have live music at venue and live music at bottom of a hill, just need the ol retirement village to have some music going and I'll be ringed in random musical acts.

Get to about 3 houses from me and see a guy stepping out of his vehicle, illuminated by a car sitting 1 house down with full beams on. Get to the top, move to cross and the guy that was out of said vehicle was all "have you found my keys yet?" someone somewhere literally screams "nah F SH" and ol mate not missing a beat almost immediately looks down, looks back up again before I crossed into my own driveway and "don't worry, I've found them" can be heard echoing throughout the area.

I get it's a Friday night, is why I was thinking of maybe seeing the live music act instead of just hearing them with an open window, but gee how many people are just out and about this time of night.
