Amazing it took 50 years or so to arrest him. Allegations have been going around for years.
Maybe the "me too" movement helped.

Given that he's not alleged to have actually r*ped anyone, he'll play the elderly card and get not much penalty at all.

I saw some headline the other day that Russell Brand had been charged. Now I’d heard some me too allegations about him so I thought boy that’s probably a reach. Anyway when I actually bothered to read it the charge was related to a minor driving offence .

Yeah that was him, Chopper called him out for it on live TV once. Have no issue with that, between consenting adults is all good.

Haven't heard if these charges are for assaulting minors, I'm thinking they aren't or it would have been in the headlines.

Probably too late for Brand to get charged. He saw the writing on the wall and reinvented himself as an outspoken, anti-woke, born again Christian grifter.

The first article I read definitely said something about child sex unit investigation. I can no longer find that article. Now I'm just reading assaulting young men.

I guess we'll see how it plays out.

I don't know how many people followed the spacey stuff closely, but it's genuinely creepy how like 3 accusers died in the same year.

When the story first broke he released a video on YouTube on Christmas day in his House of Card Character going on a big rant about how he won't go down quietly.

The next year he did the same thing, this time talking about how he was going to kill his enemies with kindness.

Really chilling stuff, makes me wonder if the reason he was such an incredible actor when playing psychopaths was because he wasn't actually acting.

When the Einstein Docs dropped, all 2000+ pages of them, you take nothing at face value, everyone knows everyone, everyone is scared of what everyone else knows, and if you anger the wrong person everyone gets screwed seven ways from Sunday.

If you then follow the Diddy instances at all, where say he was implicated in 2Pac's murder previously and grooming Usher & Bieber and maybe J-Lo and he are you know, almost mobsters, it's just one card slightly wilting in a very large pyramid. You just don't ask questions if you're a "normal" in such situations as they have support and you don't.

Is to say, whatever we expect, it's probably much worse.

Really? I've never actually met anyone that uses it.

It never really took off too much in Australia compared to other countries.

You’re kidding aren’t you ?. How many things are posted on here off X, I check a sporting result and see posts mainly on X down below. Just punched in UFC just to make sure I haven’t lost the plot, there they are under the FoxSport etc posts on X and YouTube.

When you say they use it, do you mean they'll open a link from google? Or they've got an account and the app which they use to search for things or do they actually tweet and retweet?

I have definitely clicked a link to read a tweet from time to time, but it's definitely not my preference.

Spent several hours yesterday working out why my laptop had no sound except when headphones were plugged in.

At the end , it turned out that Windows had decided to use the wrong drivers, and continued to install the wrong drivers.
The fix , from the laptop manufacturer was easy once in hindsite.
Knowing that was the fix and using it was the hard part.

I have definitely clicked a link to read a tweet from time to time, but it's definitely not my preference.

There's a real generational gap with the socials. Boomers like Facebook, Millennials like instagram. The next gen like tiktok.

Funny how it was meant to bring people together but all it did was polarise us and separate us into silos

I grew up in a small town. I'd walk to school and say hi to all the people i knew.
You'd go to the pub for a countermeal with your family, and end up sitting with someone else you knew.
A new realease movie would come out on FTA , and the whole family would watch it .
( It was still happening with my kids when movies like Harry Potter came out. ). You'd talk about it during the add breaks , or make tea or go pee.

Sorry i don't find the current scenario where everyone is in their room doing their own thing a good thing.

University was a major social thing for me, and i still keep in contact with people i met there. My kids went, and along with Covid, and post -covid, it was so much online, they didn't find it to be any sort of experience outside the study.

I use Facebook messenger a bit , mainly just to keep in touch with people who don't live nearby, and the extended family have a group chat for organising Christmas etc.
