No thanks. Having heard him a few times with Hinch he is ordinary and when its not afl he doesnt have much of an idea.

Rita is one of the best talents at the station and you seem to care what she thinks with all the posts you have about her.:D Wayne Schwass was good today and so was Scott Gullan. Wouldnt mind hearing more from him at the station as well. Would be great if Schwatta got the afternoon job. I'm a bit biased but I think he'd do better than Harford.

how on earth can you describe someone on a sports station as talented, when they no bugger all about Hmmm SPORT!:rolleyes:If you want a gossiper/twitterer/face book entertainment bullshit artist move over to 693 with Dennis Walter

I don't know however if it would make sense to have a Sports Talk (as SEN is virtually at the moment, at least on the main platform) AND a general talk station in the same family. I reckon if Singo wants to make money out of this he'll change SEN back to a 3AK type setup and keep 3MP as is. Hope it's not the case but that would make the most logic if I was running a business.

Why not ?
They are two totally different audiences.

One is pitched at males 20-55.
The other is pitched at all people 55+.

They are hardly going to cannibalise each other.

All I'll say is after listening to the AFL propoganda machine that is Gladiators of sport can SEN please refrain from saying ''Melbourne the sports capital of the world'' and rephrase to "Melbourne the paronoid and Hysterical home of ONLY AFL FOOTBALL'' Stephen J Peake waffles on and on it's almost reds under the bed stuff re'. World Cup Bid. The worlds sporting capital that doesn't want the BIGGEST SPORTING EVENT hilarious and comical:rolleyes::rolleyes:

I agree, Peakey and other SEN presenters the last week or so are letting their dislike of the world game fuel their ignorant comments regarding the bid and the sport as a whole. If you don't like the game thats fine, but generally these people who don't like it know nothing about it therefore should keep their comments to a minimum.

Couldn't agree more the hostility and aggression from the bloated windbag Peake is truly embarrasing. Fair enough they hate the game [i hate motor sport] I don't present a show that outlays open hostility towards a sport:mad::mad:

Is Mitchell Johnson 14 or is he grown man?
- On Mitchell Johnson’s blaming his poor form on his mother’s behaviour.

It’s more like he’s a housemate on Pakistan’s Big Brother
- On Shoaib Akhtar’s many off-field issues late in his career.

Tony Greig clearly had photographs of Kerry [Packer] doing something. Whether there was a goat involved - no one actually knows
- On why Tony Greig is still on the Channel Nine cricket coverage.

You do need to, these days, to entertain as well impart information and commentary and so forth. And the one thing about the Nine commentary, which is competent, there’s not a skerrick of entertainment on it. It’s dry, dreary and drab…
- On the Nine cricket commentary.

I’m told if the operation is a success they’re gonna have a crack at separating your wallet from your pocket
- On the operation to separate the Sri Lankan conjoined twins, and the on-going topic of KB’s monetary miserliness.

a) I’m not sure you have any credibility on this topic

b) I would say that dreadlocks are far more presentable and appealing than a comb-over ever was

c) The one thing that doesn’t work with a comb-over are mutton chops. You went for the daily double - mutton chops and the comb-over
- On KB’s discussion points on appropriate hair styling for drafted AFL players
82SCAN29.jpg

You don’t like anything invented after 1912 basically
- On KB not liking tattoos, gold jewellery, or studs in the ears.

He should’ve been looking after him, and making sure that Ellen had the right club selection at the very least
- On caddie, Steve Williams, not being present during the Elin Woods beatdown of Tiger.

From my reckoning at the moment we’ve got 2 cocktail waitresses, a lingerie model, a VIP hostess, a Pancake House hostess, an actress, and a club chick. What’s the common theme there, Kevin? It’s sort of trawling the bottom a little bit aren’t we. Basically he’s knocked off everybody bare somebody from the Collingwood cheer squad
- On the Tiger Woods harem of mistresses.

I committed the ultimate sin there at Channel 10. Something you’re not ever allowed to do. That was ask to be paid
- On why the Doctor was sacked by Channel 10.

He could just about get in the footy club’s team of the century after an innings like that
- On District cricketer, Scott Porter scoring 242 not out for North Melbourne against Ringwood. (Manbearpig will get it)

If the board does need to backflip or somersault she’s the person to do it
- On Alisa Camplin joining the Collingwood board.

I think maybe if Geoff and Brynne [Edlesten] emcee it next year it may be watchable

who was the idiot at SEN that thought it was a good idea to broadcast horse races

With Tabcorp no longer associated with Sport927, the funding for that station has dramatically reduced meaning the races may not be viable there in the future - the wagering licence expires in 2012 (I think) so we could see a totally different landscape in how we bet and what media is allowed to transmit it.

SEN are most probably sticking their toes in the water and seeing what happens. Friday nights, Saturday afternoons (non football season) and Sunday afternoons would generate SFA revenue for SEN. Its not going to hurt them financially to get involved with the racing. In fact I dare say they would probably be earning more.

They're just looking long term at this I would imagine and thats good thinking.

im enjoying listening to harf and richo in the mornings. seems very easy going and they cover a range of sports. miles better than mg. miles. interview with the golfer who played in the snow was refreshing. imagine mg doing the interview:

"so how difficult is it playing in the snow? do you still use a white ball or do you use a pink one?"
"well, I use a coloured one. I remember putting on the first hole, it took 9 putts to finish!"
"i'd imagine its really difficult and challenging to play in the snow, a bit like playing in geelong in the middle of winter. do you follow afl?"

Question: heard a brief clip this morning about some British dude - he may have written some books - talking about Australia's World Cup bid and being critical about Rudd "getting on his knees for FIFA", or something like that. Does anyone know his name?

MG: DOWN 0.5 to 3.3 (Eddie BTW up 0.7, perhaps that's where some of the audience went)
HUNGRY: DOWN 0.4 to 3.1
AFTERNOONS: Steady at 3.1 (Doubtless would have been down if Doran remained)
RUN HOME: DOWN 0.7 to 4.8
EVENINGS: DOWN 0.5 to 3.2
WEEKENDS: DOWN 1.0 to 3.0 (Sick of the wall-to-wall talkback it seems)

I was about to ask where you found the overnight ratings, but I take it you meant "overall"? Wouldn't have thought the All Night Appetite would be rating a 3.5!

I've read a book he wrote about corruption in the Olympic movement 'Lords of the rings" If 1/10 of what is in that book is true it's still pretty shocking stuff.
