It isn't Ange's fault we didn't qualify direct from the group stage. If we had of taken some of our basic chances in front of goal, we would have qualified nearly 6 months ago.
It's Anges fault that we conceded using his terrible back 5 with Brad Smith out wide.. Smith who has played 21 more minutes for Australia since September than he has for his club. Only Goalies usually do that.

As I saw it our series tickets were sold out...amazing considering I looked at a fair few other countries and they still had availability for all the different categories and series ticket types.

You can get random match tickets but Im not bothering unless I see our boys.

Will have to have a crack at the random selection phase post December draw

What draw was available? Was it the tickets through FFA packages?
You can buy tickets to any matches, however you don't know who will be playing until the draw is decided in early December. (ie. Pool A team 1 vs team 3 in Moscow on the 15th)

Or you can buy series tickets to a particular team, so you can buy a 3 game series which includes our group matches, or you can buy a 5 game series ticket which includes the round of 16 + qtrs. However these were all sold out from what I could see for Australia (Still available for other countries).

On the 5th off December after the pools are drawn they will have a ticket allocation phase where you submit which games you want to go to (knowing who is playing) from here it will be a ballot if demand exceeds available tickets.

No FFA packages available as of yet.

Amazing how quickly they sold for a non footballing nation.

We always travel well to the World Cups and being in Russia, we do have a lot of expats throughout Europe. It is hardly surprising they have sold quickly.

I know our goalscoring or lack thereof is a huge concern however my biggest concern should Ange continue, is the back 3.

Jedinak makes us a much tougher side to break down. He picks teams apart and provides the leadership needed.

Goal scoring was very low in group A but average for our group.

We did concede too many goals at more than 1 a game, however, I don't think that is down to the back 3 only.

When Davidson was in Ange was criticised. When Behich was in Ange was criticised. When Smith was in Ange was criticised. Gerbasch only came on recently. Behich has been great over the four "legs". The amazing thing is that no player has come on over the past 3 years to push out Leckie or Kruse. They really have been disappointing despite their goals/assists. Juric has come on over that time and has been decent but missed a few easy ones over the 4 legs.

Interesting that Jedinak is credited with the goal. My understanding of whether a goal is an own goal via a deflection is whether the ball's original trajectory was on target (which it was). So I was surprised the commentators said it was not Jedinak's goal.

I'd call it a goal. It was going in.

So moving forward, does Cahill move clubs to get a better run at a starting spot, and if so, where ??

Can't see him starting at many clubs TBH, but he's probably hoping Ange is still coach and will pick him anyway.

I was looking at World Cup host cities in Russia. Its a bloody big country with St Petersburg in the North which is on the Baltic right down to Sochi near Turkey.

I see also Volgograd (nee Stalingrad) also hosting. Many commentary opportunities one would think for references to fighting against all odds etc

If i was going id love for Australia to draw the group based Leningrad. Beautiful historic city

Does anyone know if there are tour packages from australia that includes tickets? Most seem to be flights, accommodation etc but not tickets to games

We should send Timmy unless he breaks down with injury. At worst he's an aerial threat and can be subbed on in 20 minute bursts.

And if he does score, that's four successive world cups, putting him in some very select company.
