October is the worst month. Easily. Just s**t nothing on and i go back to work.

Once you go past Cup Day weather gets better and the countdown to end of year is on and everything eases up a bit. Only problem is after December/January summer tends to end everyone goes back to work after Australia Day right when it is as hot as f.

Also next week Daylight Saving starts so am back to getting up in the ****ing dark for work.

I wish the D man was still around tbh.
He gave me 1 and 2 in the Cup two years ago and i obviously have NFI what im doing..
I dont go out to win, just trying to not lose my $50 for the week is the goal.
So no hot favourites on a win and a place, you win and still lose money, has to be roughys for a chance to maintain the pot.
A roughy comming a place is the best, comming first is a real bonus.
but
Wife and I just do it for the fillys, long lunch and the bubbles and the giggles.

Can you still do $1 bets? I thought they upped it to $5.

Or am i thinking no more 50 cent bets.

Australian Open final(s) are probably the only tennis matches I watch. Don't like tennis is enough to watch the other three at bullshit times.

Not sure why horse racing came up in a discussion about sport. Horse racing is a big pile of shit.

Horse racing as a big thing is terminal. People born after 1980 know too much of the awful truth, and bet on stuff they might have half a clue about. Media junk each Oct/Nov is going to die with boomers.

Why is it terminal and what is the awful truth?

"Those poor horses dying for entertainment :'("

Plenty of horses die during work like mustering etc.
Plenty of horses die just frigging around in a paddock.
Plenty of horses die during leisure sports.
Plenty of horses die during competition sports like show-jumping.

You do realise that horses love to gallop?

Or should we just leave horses in a paddock for purely ornamental and aesthetic value?

Doesn't make what I said any less true.

Doesn't make what I said any less true.

Horses die in show-jumping, cross-country, rodeo, campdraft, dressage, leisurely walks along the road.

Again, should we ban all horse use and just look at them in a paddock, or just horse racing because Bong Boy heard about a horse getting put down on a track one day?

You bring up paddocks and farm shit (wow you have a farm, had no idea) like it's relevant to what I said. "Horse racing as a big thing is terminal."

You bring up paddocks and farm s**t like it's relevant to what I said. "Horse racing as a big thing is terminal."

Of course it's relevant.

Just because those horse participation sports I mentioned, and I'll add Polo and Polocrosse, don't get the media exposure that racing does, horses still die.

So why only ban racing?

If you were truly upset about horses dying you'd want ALL horse sports and leisure activities banned outright.

Just another of your sheeple moments I suspect.

btw bong boy...

Younger generation participation in horse racing as owners, trainers, jockeys, betting and crowd demographics overall has never been higher.

Go to the Spring Carnival and judge for yourself.
