Bathurst isn't the same without Brocky.

I saw him hanging out at Forrest Place in Perth before that road rally he was killed in back in 2006, they had all the cars on display there before it started.

He still attracted a crowd even in his 60s, a true motor racing rock star, I considered going over there myself just to get a photo or an autograph and I'm not even a motor racing fan.

Little did I know he'd be dead a day or so later, I was in shock when I heard the news that he died, he was such a great driver it was just unthinkable.

Had seen Bathurst 1000 endings over the years of course (even remember there being two competing races as a kid) but 2016 was the first time I went "Right, I'm going to watch the whole thing".

Lasted about 90 minutes.

If Supercars did 3-hour races the rest of the time I could get into that. Not this three single races spread over two days shit.

The key to 'watching' all of Bathurst is to have a mssive night the night before and lay on the couch all day sunday with a few naps.

Supercars do do 3 hour races. Bathurst is part of the enduro races that go for longer.

Have noticed over the last 3-4 months that I've started having anxiety which comes and goes. Today hasn't been a great day, definitely need to work through it but looking forward to going to sleep tonight.

Try St. John's wort as a natural remedy & lessen your sugar & caffeine intakes.

More H2O, fruit & Tea.

Cheers for the recommendation, will try St. John's wort and see how it goes. Minimal sugar and caffeine intake already and I get through plenty of water each day in an effort to be healthy. Will try and avoid medication if possible as it's not too frequent at this point thankfully.

Meditation can also be a helpful tool in order to centre yourself & not get swept up in the hubbub of cultural imperatives & the expectations of others & yourself.

There's nothing wrong with being open to the level of sensation & allowing yourself to stand within the swirl of the angst. Instead of trying to damp it down with pills, drugs, alcohol, by running away from it....That's what meditation is all about.... The key is to not confuse one's self & our identity with the bodily anxiety itself….You can just watch it inside yourself, by being with it; owning it, nurturing it & not desiring to chase it away…..As we learn to stay with the sensation/feelings longer & longer, people begin to own them & the underlying feelings without allowing them to sweep them away entirely.... This is actually the process of the body & mind beginning to knit themselves into an integral whole….This actually shrinks the giant feeling down, as you garner more & more control over it, by owning it, until it becomes an integral part of your psyche & no longer owns & runs your life, but rather, the other way around.

And Yes....I've been doing meditation for yonks courtesy of a violent alcoholic father & childhood.

Anxiety is an Aspect of the invisible soul that's seeking our attention.
