News Time for the Vic teams to leave Victoria - EDIT: Hawks to Hub in Barossa, 15 teams in QLD

This is ridiculous. Pull the pin.
Why? With such a low tally outside Vic this can be managed, would be crazy to cancel a season if they can move Vic teams interstate

"Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk confirmed on Friday afternoon the state will provide a hub for six AFL teams for the “rest of the season”."

Caveat here is QLD Premier didn't know until recently that QLD has 2 AFL teams and refers to AFL as "the other code". So she may not be the best source.

I'm actually starting to get worried about the Vic teams playing at Optus stadium with crowds during quarantine.

If a Victorian player has covid, plays in a game and then the footy goes in to the crowd, there's a risk for an outbreak.

Yes we are going to come over, spit on the ball and virus bomb your crowds muhahahahaha.

Swap WA and NSW. There is only one viable stadium in Perth compared to three in Sydney, you'd put more teams there ideally. I think Perth will get two teams at a time until WCE/Freo exhaust their remaining home games, and then will spend the last month of the season on the road.
Nothing wrong with Leederville for smaller vic v vic

It's a bit strange we're in the QLD hub and not the NSW hub given we've already played Richmond, North, Carlton and Bulldogs but I'm sure it will work out.

Plenty of SA and WA team players are in the same situation. Tim Kelly as an example took all his kids and the wife to the Gold Coast to solve the problem.

I also don't begrudge a Victorian player for opting to stay home but a fair few WC supporters (as an example) still hold a bee in their bonnets about the criticism that Simmo copped for complaining about the uncertainty of the hub especially for players with families.

one poster brought up grudges from 1987:)

Six AFL teams will base themselves in Queensland for the duration of the 2020 season, Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk has confirmed.

Ms Palaszczuk said St Kilda, North Melbourne, Essendon, the Western Bulldogs, Richmond and Carlton, would all quarantine under chief health officer directions on entry to the state.
