I have just finished reading the game day thread & I am furious. All you people who live in melbourne, but can't be bothered getting your arses off your chair & away from the computer make me sick.

You are the reason I rarely come to this board, we were totally robbed today with ridiculous 50 metre penalties. The Dees were gifted 5 goals, our boys were brave & considering the players we had out of our side, it was a tremendous effort.

So all you morons, who are calling for Knights to be sacked & half of our team to be delisted, get ****ed. Try leaving your bedrooms & actually attend a game.

By the way, we watched the replay after we got home & even the commentators said most of the 50's were bullshit.

Good news, unfortunately, most of the morons who are bagging our team didn't.


we deserved to win today & any Bomber who says different, didn't go to the game & see how the umps ripped us off.

I don't usually complain about the umpiring, but today was a bloody disgrace.

My thoughts about the umpiring today and since the Baker/Johnson incident - And there is a definite causal relationship.

The Baker/Johnson incident was to be the catalyst to stop behind the play incidents ( which I applaud ) but what has happened since that event.

The umpires have been over officious and have given out 50 metres willy nilly - The Baker/Johnson incident was supposed to concentrate on behind the play incidents - not players cribbing over the mark. And what is more frustrating is that the umpires turned a blind eye to the constant sniping by brisbane against riewoldt last night. Poor officiating umpires !

To todays game.

I am a pragmatic person and would be surprised if all the 50 metre penalties paid against Essendon were correct - It is hard to imagine that our players ( they can be ill-disciplined at times ) could make so many errors. And to take it a step further if all seven were correct decisions that means that the umpires missed another 15 or 20 during the game.

Message to matthew Knights

no reason to complain to the umpires for 2 reasons

1) Jeff Gieschen will state that every decision is correct - Umpires are a unique species in the world - they never make a mistake - They must be Non-Human

2) Jeff Gieschen will ask you to refer to the pre-season video.

We won the Forward 50 entries, more scoring shots and without the 7 free goals the umps game the dees, we would of won. Essendon are becoming a crucified team regarding umpiring calls.

And i may add that the Colyar chase of Joke Watts (May i add he loves a dive now and again) and the blatent holding on Lonergan on the Southern Wing had me in all sorts.

Rubbish, we were outplayed most of the day, a quarter and a half of good football will rarely get the job done. Blame the umps all you want, but we're not gonna be a better side if we keep making excuses for ourselves.

i dont usually blame a loss on the umpires but i can honestly say that they were pathetic today. i was at the game and i lost my voice because i was yelling at them so much, many decisions were pathetic and directly influenced the game/scoreboard.

that said though, we only played well in patches as per usual and melbourne probably deserved to win more even though i think we are a much better team.

i agree that the team has looked to lack passion and guts at times, but the supporters who cant even be bothered making it to the game only to jump on this forum and post only negative comments should just be ignored.

I can honestly say that I do not believe I have EVER seen an umpiring performance determine the outcome of a game ..... until yesterday! That was, without a doubt, the WORST umpiring I have ever seen. Not just those ridiculous 50's but the second free to Watts which resulted in another goal.

Having said that, to come on here and allude that we are playing well and it was just the umpiring is just as ridiculous. The umpires didn't cause the crap decision making or the lousy handballing or TOTALLY ineffective forward line that we had (have!).

And no I'm not one of those morons you allude to, I was there as I have been EVERY WEEK!! - so I'm afraid that stuffs up your rant somewhat - this team is now the worst in the league as I fear will be shown next week and it's time the admin had the balls to admit their mistake and do something about it!

So take your generalisations and shove them!!
