....and whilst we're talking about Jeffy, that mark he took just before the final siren was just plain outragous.
Pretty sure you're really not meant to be able to turn your body like that to be able to take a mark.

Sensational stuff.

I completely agree... was it considered as a mark of the year contender this week?

I call conspiracy if it wasn't.

So what can we expect from Yaz on Sunday.
I can't think of anyone at Melbourne that have the remotest chance of being able to keep up with him.
It could seriously be a highlight reel on Sunday.
Forget Yarran, they'd struggle chasing down Brock. Looking forward to some exciting passages of play!

I think we should try to be the first team in the history of the VFL/AFL to have every player kick a goal. Doesn't seem like too much to ask, does it?
Ha, I remember an u16's game where we got to do this.

Also vaguely remember a game where our coach instructed fwd pockets & flanks to remove themselves from the 50 arc to give space to the KPF's. One guy ended the game with 13 or 14 goals & the other with 20+ They were the only two on the field to trouble the scorers.

Maybe our KPF's can do a reverse of this and vacate the arc to give to Yaz ;)
Looking fwd to watching him continue his scintillating form (& co)

With the inclusions of Bell, Ellard & Cachia it seems Melb are going to be given another old school bruising this weekend. Can't wait :)

What excites me so much about Yarran is how much improvement he's got in him...

Not taking away anything from his great start to the season, but I really believe once he's playing consistantly at this level, he's got another gear to find in the next few seasons. He's clearly high on confidence, and this is reflected in a few good games in a row and I expect we'll see more.

I think he'll also improve his consistancy with decisions and disposal. Once upon a time he'd do somehting freakish just to follow it up with a casual 15 metre kick that falls short, but he's certainly improved at this and I believe he'll continue to, he has far fewer concentration lapses than he once did.

I don't think we've seen hardly midfield Yarran yet, which could possibly be an entirely different beast!

Pleasure to watch when he's up and going, so glad he wears the navy blue :thumbsu:

Whoever puts the descriptions for the marks must not be a Carlton fan.

"Garlett's accidental mark" - Pretty sure he meant to mark it.

"Blair takes it to a whole new level" -- wasn't that spectacular. Even Andrew Krakouer would be embarrassed at that description.

"Brilliant leap and grab from Jones" -- not bad, but not the best mark of the week.

Must be the work experience kid.

Mmmmmm delicious, I think all there of our smalls could have burst in the middle as well, they read the ball so well and Yarran does not need many disposals to hurt a team. At times he looks so lazy, but that's just class only the very good players can make it look like that, the good thing is that he is still a kid and has a lot of upside to him. Hope he works on a bigger tank would love to see him roaming off the wing and in the middle as well, would be very damaging.

No jest.

A gesture of positivity.

Stand by the comment.

no problems, we are all entitled to our opinions but from my prospective i have been frustrated with his disposal by foot. the amount of times i have watched him take the ball from half back to half forward then burn the ball has been far to numerous, this could also be a reflection on our forwards

He should be leading our B&F after 4wks but to be considered a champion like McLeod at the end of his career, he will have to put his body in more. Maybe it is not his role at present but if we ever become finalists again he is almost certain to have a hardnut opponent and so he will need to continue to improve in this area.
A major part of Carlton's problem is accepting weakness and so the whole team need to improve on their faults. As I have said elsewhere Juddy is possibly the exception as despite being fairly poor overhead for which his old shoulders are no help, his strengths are outstanding and include the non-negotiable characteristic that all must have - hardness, he nevertheless would be working on being a more reliable kick for goal.

47.6 disposal efficiency, so you do have a point.

But credit where credit's due, he is sharing the lead in our goalkicking.

Yep, remember all the talk about how MM's game plan was going to kill him as a player and that he'll look to move..

Has been one of the few players to show some kind of work rate and desire to lift the team. I'd have Yarran and Buckley as first picked each week ATM. Keep him in the midfield and away from the black hole of effort our forward line has become.
