He'll play 400 games if he wants to and given his form and fitness, he'll have well and truly earned it unlike the last bloke to play 400 games who was nursed to the milestone.

The only question is whether or not he'll want to play for another 3 seasons after this one. I can picture him retiring while still at the top of his game especially if he plays in another premiership.

His leadership this year has been really good. I honestly think the umpire dissent laws have helped, he could get a bit distracted in the past. Setting a much better example now.

2024 season is actually probably a plausible time frame for Neale to get the work in to make a strong claim for a permanent KF position, but I have a feeling there is a lot of water to pass under the bridge before then.

Hawkins was always going to have to be replaced in the aggregate. He is unique for a variety of reasons. A guy of his output is extremely rare. In the current age of 200cm kpfs it is even harder to find a player who provides structure yet is skilled. The potential pool of players is tiny.
