We can challenge for free so of course we will do it, but he wont get it reduced. The AFL have decided who they want to see play on Grand Final day and it isnt us.

It's an opportunity to do something different and maybe throw a spanner in the works for Richmonds planning, we have options that can be explored.

Based on the current rules, Hawkins probably deserves a week. But there’s so much inconsistency it’s frustrating. Greene was NEVER going to get suspended. And the moment it went to the tribunal, I knew it would be easier to stage manage.

In reality, we need to look at suspensions in finals. They are super intense games so players make mistakes. Suspension is just too big a penalty imo. Especially when we all want to see the best players play.

When was Schofield concussed?

Stealing from Liger post on the previous page:
No blood,
No injury,
No trainers came to him,
No medic looked at him,
No medical report (at this stage)
No time off the field,

If he was concussed then there's going to be a decent fine going the way of WCE for negligence around player safety & allowing a concussed player to stay out on the field

besides - there's more contact to the back of the shoulder than to the Schofield's ear anyway

Gosh. He only got a week. That’s a terrible post on Twitter whoever it is.

Not even assessed

Only incidents looked at were Hawkins & Stewart. This is what was said about Stewart

Incident explained:
Contact between Geelong Cats’ Tom Stewart and West Coast Eagles’ Elliot Yeo from the fourth quarter of Friday’s match was assessed. The ball is loose on the wing. Stewart and Yeo seek to contest the ball and in the process Stewart makes careless high contact to Yeo. It was the view of the MRO that there was insufficient force to constitute a Reportable Offence. No further action was taken.

Well call you as first witness!

As per the MRO rules, it can’t be careless conduct if it happened behind play, it must be intentional.
Not questioning the intent between careless & intentional

Just questioning how is an incident where the player had to leave the field of play and seek medical treatment classed as low impact, when we have an incident from last night where the trainer didn't even worry about checking on the player and that is also classed as low impact

Surely they can't be the same level of impact when one required medical treatment and one didn't

But Gil wants Geelong out, we’re a pain in the arse 👎

Gee, how surprising a Geelong player gets suspended when players from other teams over the last week have been cleared for more severe infringements.

Just waiting to hear that the Richmond VFL player who got reported this afternoon gets cleared on Monday, despite the fact his victim went to hospital with concussion and a fractured cheekbone.

You're taking the piss if you think Cotchins act was worse then Hawkins. Punch behind play compared to an act in play.

That's where we should challenge,Hawkins was trying to make field position IE get back to the goal square and Schofield was initiating contact to impede him.
That's in play or there would have been no reason for Schofield to be taking Tom on as he did.

Cotchins hit was far more similar to Stewarts hit on Yeo than Hawkins on Schofield. You can blame whoever you want but at the end of the day it's entirely Hawkins fault. Don't put yourself in a position to play lottery with the MRP and you won't have to deal with it. Hawkins has consistently done stupid things like this across his career. Johnson was another who would always have these weird brainfades and pay the price for it. He'll challenge it as he has no reason not to, and maybe he'll get lucky.
