Sidebottom was as good as the Norm Smith medalist. It would not have been a surprise if he'd won it and he was the youngest player on the ground - and a teenager at that. Add his 2010 finals to his final v Adelaide at the end of his first year and he's number 1 for mine.

Having kicked 10 goals in the TAC GF he is a proven finals performer. Nothing counts for more than that. At the very least he is the best midfielder under 21 and he'll be the same next year and the year after that!

I'd have Martin in my team every day of the week ahead of Sidebottom.

I reckon Krezuer is just about the most underrated youngster I have seen in decades of watching football. These threads incorporate too much hype.

EDIT: Good effort volders :thumbsu:

Will be an absolute star, wish we lost that game rd 22 2007, if I could pick any player in the league to add to our list it would be him by a country mile.

4. Riewoldt
5. Hill
6. Gibbs
7. Cotchin

mine was based purely on potential

Kruezer has undoubtedly performed better, but NN could be a once in a generation player

he may not, but there you have it

Um, we don't need no age calculator, just look at the Demons website, you have his birthday wrong. You are wrong. Yes Marc Shmurf, you are wrong.

You don't like what you see in a 19 year old playing in a Grand Final though? I think nearly every Carlton fan alive would kill you if you went for Bastinac over Sidebottom if you were a Carlton recruiter and were given the choice...then again, perhaps you thought Bastinac was still 16??

By the club website he's 22, by wiki he's 21. I'd probably go with the club website. If he was born on the 9th Nov 1988 he is definitely 21 though.

Dude, the first line of that article says he was born on the 23rd of September...I'd say the club is a little more trustworthy.

After all their tanking, Melbourne supporters are a little bitter that other teams may have youngsters that are good as theirs.

JUST MAKE SURE YOU DON'T SAY THEY ARE BETTER !!!

but seriously its just his opinion, doesn't need to be some kind of agenda behind that
