Why fix them, when u can have talent kids that don’t need fixing

So we're throwing in the towel on a highly talented 21 year old who could have been #1 if not for his health concerns, turned out to be a rising star winner, and kicked 59 goals in his first 38 games for another (later) draft pick trying to get another kid who may not be rated as highly, has likely missed a full year of development and might not have the same impact or upside as the player you're trading out?

I can't see how anyone would be pushing any sort of "grass is greener on the other side" line of thinking in relation to Stevo as we know he he has the goods.

Apparently Stevos 600k at the pies, but North want to pay him 500k???

If he’s willing to take less to play at coach-less, bottom 2 pathetic Tasmanian team, I’m sure he would agree to a paycut at the pies.....

Does Ned Guy know how to negotiate or does he just hit the trade button when the numbers don’t add up?

The draft order change significantly in the final year of development. We might land someone special but it’s never been harder to judge imo.

Eagles lost a GF in 2015 and three years later came back and won. While our window is fading we are slamming it shut now.
Stranger things have happened. But l have never believed in the window. If the team is good enough it will get there. Dogs prove that

Stevo, r2d2 and pick 14 to north for pick 2 and future 2nd.

we grab Logan McDonald and him and Kelly become the best key forwards in the league for the next 12 years and we win 8 flags from 2022

It’s happening.
ADEL bid on WB ACADMY PLAYER
WB MATCH
ADEL THAN TAKE Logan McDonald with Pick 2.

Not happening.

I'm still keeping my powder dry until the end of tomorrow.

Depending on the outcome will depend if I join in the chorus. Fingers crossed these reports are desinged to create drama as suspected.

Jake Niall isn't one to cause drama.

If he's reporting it, take it as gospel.

I still feel I am in a nightmare and this will all go away. We were supposed to be strengthening our squad and now we will lose potentially two top 10 players on our list. Genius work by all involved.

Treloar I can cop, but trading a 20 yo who won the Rising Star couple years ago is F***ING INSANE!!!
Has the deal been done yet, are we. If we are maybe the deal is too good to refuse.
I am not saying l want him gone, l don’t, but you have to keep an open mind about it.
Till the trade is done he is still our player

So Stepho is 100% out the door for a second rounder?

Yeah, still think I'm gonna sit and wait for the end of business tomorrow.
Pretty sure Niall and Gleesons article said the club wouldn’t accept a second rounder but that’s what North are offering because they’re convinced it’s a salary dump.

Some have dead set lost the plot and their only thought is violence.

North Melbourne has indicated an unwillingness to trade a first round draft pick for Collingwood's Jaidyn Stephenson, leaving the 2018 rising star winner's future unresolved as the trade deadline beckons.

The Kangaroos have spoken with Stephenson, who is yet to say where he is willing to join them. But their current stance on a first round pick - they believe Stephenson is part of a salary cap dump by the Magpies and would only offer a second rounder - is at odds with Collingwood's position, which is that it will take a first round choice, such as North's pick No.11, to get a deal done.

The Magpies are saying that they will not give up Stephenson without a first rounder and that he will be retained if they do not, in what will be test of how badly the club wants to shed the pacy forward, who booted 38 goals in his debut season to take out the rising star award before a 10-match suspension for gambling offences unravelled his 2019 campaign.

Collingwood had also expressed mild interest in Carlton's outside midfielder Lochie O'Brien, whom the Blues were willing to part with for the right deal, but sources familiar with O'Brien's situation said he was also a good chance to remain with the Blues.
Collingwood is also interested in trading their 2021 first round pick for a first round choice this year, in the knowledge that they will likely lose that 2021 pick in the bidding process for father-son recruit Nick Daicos.

Stephenson fell away after his immense promise in 2018 and for the early period of 2019 and was dropped from the senior side during the season before returning on the eve of the finals.
The Magpies also are still a chance to trade wingman Tom Phillips, who has a year to run on a relatively sizeable contract. North and Hawthorn have some interest in Phillips.
So we keep him, l would not do the trade even for eleven.
