Strategy Trade and List Management thread 4 (Be sure to huddle around your transitor radio at 11 am Edition)

Is the Stringer situation beyond repair?

  • The club clearly want him out the door.

  • This was just a shot across Jakes bow as a means of motivating him.

  • The club is clearly a rabble. Sack Macca!

  • This is just the first play in massive trade that we are not yet privy to.

  • This is a game of blink and Jake and Conners just blinked.

  • Its time to move on a negotiate the best deal we can.

  • I felt sad for Jake on that stage today.

  • We've warned you about creating polls Norm!

  • The Jack 'Armageddon option' Watts option

Apparently pies chasing Harbrow

Apparently Pies after Libba, Harbrow, Ward, M.Talia, Hrovat, Higgins and they are sacking Buckley and replacing him with Cameron

Confirmed. Most stuff in this thread is bullshit

Min of 4 spaces need to be cleared at end of year I assume? If so would it be most likely they'd come from this group? Maybe Cloke may hang them up if he gets dropped again by years end in favor of Red. If not I have 3 (excluding rookies)> Smith, Lynch, Hamilton don't faze me either way. Crameri is costing us a bit and unless he takes a decent shave I'd let him go.

Roarke Smith (2017) (Re-Signed 2016)
Josh Prudden (2017) (Re-Signed 2016)......After year after year of injury club have persevered. I'd like to see him with a full pre-season under his belt.
Brad Lynch (2017) (Re-Signed 2016)
Matthew Boyd (2017) (Re-Signed 2016)............To go
Dale Morris (2017) (Re-Signed 2016).......with so much footy missed with injury I see no reason why he couldn't go another.
Declan Hamilton (2017) (Re-Signed 2016)
Jack Redpath (2017) (Re-Signed 2016).....Need him to put pen top paper
Robert Murphy (2017) (Re-Signed 2016).....still has class but are soft tissue injuries going to mean 14-15 games for the year? I'd like to see one more year
Bailey Dale (2017) (Re-Signed 2015)........Must resign him
Lukas Webb (2017) (Re-Signed 2015)......Any must resign him
Mitch Honeychurch (2017) (Re-Signed 2015).....To go with a little trade value
Stewart Crameri (2017) (Traded For in 2013).....Trade value? Free up a bit of cap?
Nathan Mullenger-McHugh (2017) (1 Year Rookie Deal)
Tristan Tweedie (2017) (Category B Rookie Deal)

Big chance they get hopper and Devon smith.
What are they giving up for them? I can't see them having much to put on the table. Smith would cost a first round pick or close to, Hopper also a first rounder. I can't see what the Giants would take for them, maybe someone like Ben Reid, their 2017 first round pick + something else good?

Josh Prudden: Delist (Begrudgingly)
Declan Hamilton: Delist
Matthew Boyd: Retire
Robert Murphy: Retire
Stewart Crameri: Trade
Jack Redpath: Trade
Mitch Honeychurch: Trade

Roarke Smith: Re-Sign (1 Year)
Brad Lynch: Re-Sign (1 Year)
Dale Morris: Re-Sign (1 Year)
Bailey Dale: Re-Sign (2 Year)
Lukas Webb: Re-Sign (2 Year)
Nathan Mullenger-McHugh: Re-Sign (1 Year)
Tristan Tweedie: Re-Sign (1 Year)

Agree, except I'd re-sign Redpath for another year.

Also, isn't it three spots we need, rather than four? Unless we upgrade Roarke or one of the other rookies.

If I'm north Melbourne, I'm forgetting all about Josh Kelly and going all in on Martin. Offer him $1.6 a year over 6/7 years. Either Richmond match and it ****s their cap and they've made an opposition team uncomfortable or you land your man with your war chest and save yourself 2 first round picks.

Trade Goldstein for some magic beans and take to the draft and if they still have cash after Martin which they will, go at a free agent, like Pittard or something.
Goldy supposedly on $900k now. Frees up a lot of cap if he goes.

Who would take Goldstein for $900k per year though? NM would have to throw in a first round pick to get rid of that salary
No-one would. But someone would take him at $450-$500k. North get a second round pick in and free up close to $500k in the cap.

Kinda like Collingwood should just pay out Chris Mayne, save a little money and fill that list spot with a kid.

GWS would be all over Goldstein I reckon. Mumford not getting any younger (2 years older than Todd I believe) and Dawson Simpson not a #1 ruck. Makes sense GWS would have a crack depending on salary issue.

Not sure if mention but would anyone be keen for Harbrow to return to the dogs.
Left on good terms and could be a good option alongside JJ off half back
