Riccardi constantly in the 2s for GWS, he’s played defence before from memory, any good? I quite like him forward

Top up with Hamling
We had a genuine interceptor in Wood. Hamling a lockdown. The rest were a disciplined, smart and fast group. They played a style that was fast rebound which was a massive strength for us.Probably because the 2016 defence wasn't great one on one other than probably Morris..
Yeah absolutely, concerning though that the players he can be compared to like Thillthorpe, MacDonald, Reid, Amiss are absolutely dominating the competition… oh wait?Agree, Kpf who missed 2 development years of footy.......he is gunna be a great footballer.
Ballard is a good call mate . We should go hard for himFor a large part of my life I wanted to be Chris Grant but not happy with the public talk about Lobb. The guy is in a team in the finals and this kind of talk causes bad blood and retaliation. We do the hypotheticals here!
Freo and us have been able to do fair deals in the past and let’s keep it that way. Let’s leave the undermining to Dodo.
BTW - don’t think Chris intended anything other than saying he is a good player that we and many clubs would look at but better to stay away from individuals and stick ti talking about the kinds of player we want - including the culture of player. We want people to want to come here not have to overpay.
In a Pot-calling-Kettle-black moment - I would be very happy to get Riccardi home. His flexibility means I would chase him anyway.
Logue, Edwards (WC), Payne and Petty should be our targets are playing more so probably harder to get but these are the gettable targets.
Throw the big guns at Ballard - he is a true defender and a star. Come get a premiership Charlie. Would need to give up a Dunkley level player.
2nd chance saloon - Miller from Richmond seems a bit better than Gardner - but can’t get a regular spot so need to beware. Melican from Swans. Billy Frampton from Adelaide.
Top up with Hamling, McAsey, Worrell.
Adelaide is a trade partner - they need Mids and flankers but have extra KPs. Would not give up Daniel or Dale for what they have available but Williams is also Adelaide and Crozier is from Perth and probably has less attachment to Melb.
Freo have Cox, Logue and Hamling. Need forwards and inside Mids. With their list are probably more open to draft picks. Logue defiantly doable but would prefer Cox. Pearce is the best but we can afford another biscuits.
Would be interesting if we threw the kitchen sink at North for McKay. Dunkley, Williams and Pick 8 for McKay and two later picks. Overs but would we be a much better team?
Unless it is McKay, Barrass or Ballard - keep the first pick and just get a quality player - with 6-8 should be a good player and remembering Naughty was a KPD that went forward so might be a KPF that we think will go back but hopefully a KPD like Busslinger and later on get Van Es.
And this year our hands aren't tied as there isn't a NGA or Father Son that is going to chew up our picks. For the right deal would even go into 2023 picks for a Barrass or similar

Jay Clark reporting that there will be an assistant coaching overhaul for next season.
Hopefully we target someone that understands the Melbourne/Richmond game style.
Overhaul for us or league wide?Jay Clark reporting that there will be an assistant coaching overhaul for next season.

No specifically at the Dogs.Overhaul for us or league wide?
Richmond found what worked for a pretty limited side talent wise and had full buy in, I wouldn’t be basing our game off there’s thoughJay Clark reporting that there will be an assistant coaching overhaul for next season.

As it should be. It was clear as day the club was completely on the backfoot with the assistant coaching departures. They pretty much picked up coaches off the scrap heap that literally no other club was after.Jay Clark reporting that there will be an assistant coaching overhaul at the Dogs for next season.

Freo (and Melbourne) are the blue print right now - awesome defend first defence, hold their ground and back their defenders in to get the job done. Can play tempo footy and carve you up through the middle with footskills but also have pace and flair and can flick a switch and carve you up with run and carry when the opportunities there - but don’t overdue it and try to force it every single time like us.
4 years too late. But please be true.Jay Clark reporting that there will be an assistant coaching overhaul at the Dogs for next season.

Losing Hunter to the blues and King to the Suns really killed us. We replaced them with two untried coaches which was a bad move. Why stop at the assistants? Whole football program overhaul please.
Really ? Steven King and Hunter are guns. Listen to Carlton and Suns people talk about how much influence they've had on thier success. Massive losses which we failed to replace adequately.4 years too late. But please be true.

Definitely agree with this. Hansen was talking about how much autonomy Vossy gives the coaches. A clear slap @ Bevo. The coaching structure overhaul (i.e challenging Beveridge) is what is so late. Too much power in the hands of one, which is a fair chance why King and Hansen eventually left.
I don’t get the obsession with wanting to copy what other clubs are doing.
How many clubs in recent history have won flags or gone close copying what other clubs have done previously??
The only one I can think of, funnily enough, is the tigers copying our 2016 blueprint on their way to a few flags.
Other than that? Saints and Freo with Lyon (no flag but multiple GF’s), Hawks with Clarko (across several seasons), Pies with Malthouse, Eagles with Simpson.
All developed systems different to what other clubs were doing. All benefited from having that point of difference.
If we’re getting outside ideas in, I hope it’s to develop the latest and greatest footballing system rather than one that’s been done to death and potentially on its way out.
I'm sorry if I have caused offence.
What sort of players should the dogs be looking for?
Nah keep your trash at Brisbane along with your cheating time keeper. You certainly got shown up as not worthy of a top four spot, last year, looks like nothing has changed judging by today’s game.I'm sorry, I didn't mean to cause any offence. I'm not sure what Zorko has to do with any of this.
I was trying to offer a constructive post with an opportunity for the dogs. I feel the way Rhys plays, and I know he isn't a superstar, but I think he plays very much to the the bev game plan. He gets a lot of the ball and knows how to draw a free kick or "flick" it out when needed.
