Hello Eagles fans!

The embedded resources below are kept up to date by the trade board mods (as much as possible – we are human after all). Enjoy!

Keys you may like to sticky this post & move it to the start of the thread (so the sticky post doesn't rotate if a post is deleted before it), or copy it to your draft thread if you have one.

Outstanding defender ? He was owned 2 games in a row in the champs . They then moved him to the midfield.

I would be more inclined to start the ball rolling with busslinger who is a better defender and interceptor and will be in competition with so many young talls at bulldogs .
Buss will be a great trade target and dogs will be low on $$$ from Naughton/JUH/English. I suspect Dockers realise this too and are trading heavily into next year for him and Logan Mac

bro why tf r u guys still considering trading pick 1

i dont fricken get it man, Reid is not only the most hyped player but arguably the best player to come through the draft...why are we looking to trade it lmaoooooooooooooooooooooo

17 other clubs would love to have pick 1, i dont get care if its a 3 year rental just take him we can get a big haul then

Has to make you think maybe that why Reid has looked so good, BC he has been playing against a bunch of kids who aren't up to it.

Have worried about this too.

But it's still better to take the one that dominates against nobodies than trade him away for multiple nobodies.

If we have pick 1 next year I would rather rock up to draft night and pass on it than trade it to ****ing Geelong.

Next person to suggest it gets a ban.

Yeah worst case scenario that is the case. Another scenario west coast could be doing 1,F6 for 2,3,F2 so how about taking an educated punt because let’s be honest Geelong definitely aren’t getting any better next year. They are about to drop off the edge of the cliff.

And I think people are putting too much value on the number one. Have a look at a few other drafts.
What would you choose out of mccluggage and Taranto or McGrath and logue.? Or what about McCartin and wright or petracca and brayshaw? Tom Boyd and mcdonald or bont and Kelly ?

WCE see curtin as our next big bodied midfielder and yes like many recruiters I think he and duursma are pick 2 and 3
I’ll have what he’s smokin’

This is a very valid point

And I’ve just chastised myself for ever considering it

This will trigger you then.

We will take reid and in three years, at the same time he requests a trade east, the cats have hit rock bottom and hold pick one in the draft.

Then come the Kelly quid pro quo melts.

Ah it’s horrible I think based on the fact they thought their list development was anticipating entering a premiership window from last year on. Last year was a shambles on the park and this trade (exodus) period a shambles off it imo. Even if those picks are to be repurposed for established player targets there’s less stability that will work out for them.

It’s also indicative of something deeper that these guys wanted to leave the club. Schultz being a rookie list player for so long and only getting a deal for 2023 was crazy, he’s one of their best players. Freo don’t generally show their players they care about them is the vibe
There’s always been stories on our board that Fyfe is an A grade Kent, and a lot of their players leaving is on him.

Geelong can eat a bag of dicks.

I think it’s funny that they’ve made this big song and dance about their first pick being up for grabs, but no club is making a serious play for it as they know they’ll get bent over without lube.

Pick 24 odd for Esava is ridiculous overs for a fringe best 22, out of contract player who has been dropped twice this year.

Don’t get me started on the Kelly fiasco.

Not worth trading with the BODEs unless it’s absolutely necessary.

Oh boy am I salty tonight for absolutely no reason!

Gonna take it all out in britzoon when he inevitably pops his head up to mansplain the draft to the board for the 72nd time.
“Yeah the Eagles have pick 1 but let me explain to you the ins and outs of the Brisbane strength and conditioning program of 2017”

ROB will be like the local hero tomorrow,
swagger in take Kane's seat , leave them hanging on every word , he is " The Man " tomorrow , the answer to all our questions and posts .

Cats can f**k right off. Would rather trade F1 for 7,15 and F1 with GWS if we are going down that route, which hopefully we aren’t. A couple of cheap alternative trade ups in this draft:

With Crows
OUT: F2
IN: 20

With Hawks

OUT: 37, 58
IN: 33

1-Reid
20-Demattia/Schoenmaker
23-Stevens/Edwards
33-ZZ/Moir/Freijah
40+ Collard, Livingstone, Hall

For those suggesting to take Sharp, it is a pass for me

I also believe there will be decent options late in the draft

What this draft lacks are A grade midfielders and apart from Walter (no access to him), no tall KPF’s. Plenty of KPD, outside mids, running hbf and hybrid mid/forwards.

I would much rather use our last pick on O’Driscoll than Sharp as an example

The squeeze on spots is real as clubs lost 2 spots during Covid and we have the SSP and we have the ability to get access in the mid season draft. Where clubs took development prospects later in previous draft, you can get them cheaper other ways. In addition with the salary cap from Covid, most clubs want to maximise the number of rookies as a % does not go against the cap

This draft is good if you are ok to pick for what it has and not necessarily what you need

Apart from jetta who they were happy to let go who have we got from Sydney?

Great trading relationship whilst they keep poaching our players .

If we went after and convinced MacDonald to leave Sydney I doubt they would be happy and want to give us a fair deal
Fair point but we have done right by them in the past and I think they have been fair.

We have also done a bit of pick trading.

I would expect that Sydney would be happy to give us an opportunity if the player was open to it.

2 and 3
2,15,17,18
2, 15, future 1st
6,11, future 1st, JVR

They are the only deals I’d consider, I know people will be a lot lower on 2,15,17,18 but if you can get say McKercher, Leake, Collard and Schoenmaker or something along those lines, that’s probably better than just Reid.
Can we say Rivers instead of JVR then would like the Melbourne deal

Clubs with picks that could be traded up for extra points

West Coast - 37,58 (653 points ~pick 29)
St Kilda - 35,56 (716 points ~pick 27)
Essendon - 31,52 (852 points ~pick 22)
Port 41,49 - (699 points ~pick 28)
Brisbane 30,47 - (945 points ~pick 20)
Fremantle 34,46 - (873 points ~pick 22)
Richmond 29,50 - (926 points ~pick 20)

There’s potential trades that will change the above but as it stands our best option is 37 and 58 for 33 from Hawthorn
GC have already 24, 27, 28, 32, 36 and 38
GC already have enough picks for players they will get 26 or 22 of Carlton
Marbior Chol will get them pick 33

I would be trying to get pick 27 or 28 of GC

Offer a future 3rd and 58 or 37 to try pick up one of those GC picks
Promise not to bid on GC academy boys

Livingstone still recovering from his ruck landing collision with ZZ in Colts semi- final , ...missing today's combine but up and running in the next month .
Others that are participating for WC NGA include Oscar Hine-Baston .

Other at the combine

The Lions pair Will's and Luker Kentfield , Claremont's Joe Fonti and Sam Van Rooyen , East Fremantle's Jack Cocking , West Perth's Odin Jones , South Fremantle's Ashton Ferreira and Swan Districts defender Lawson Humphries ( who was a WC , NGA a few years ago .)
Do we have results yet? How did the WA boys go?
