Hello Eagles fans!

The embedded resources below are kept up to date by the trade board mods (as much as possible – we are human after all). Enjoy!

That risk could happen with anyone we choose that isn't from WA.

- Choose McKercher as the next best available? He could go back to Tassie.

- Pick Duursma? Maybe he gets homesick.

- Walter not available.

Throw a blanket over the rest in regards to go home fears.

So you're straight up limiting yourself to reaching for Curtin because he's considered the only non flight risk in the top 10.

Then next year if you have a top 20 pick you're basically screwed.

So there's zero point worrying about players going home after their initial contract because anyone we pick has the same option.
Also. What does it say to potential draftees if we baulk at taking a potential generational pick one for fear of go home. In the future, it says to them....'oh west coast won't pick the Victorian kids BC .......'

So are we likely to see Adelaide coming to us for Rotham with the departure of Doodee as a FA to Lions and the potential loss of Elliot to the GWS to reunite the brothers?

I believe the Crows had some interest in 2022 and dafter another strong showing in the Grand Final this year, that pace is something to be admired!! Not really a KPD but a 3rd tall and can fill in at CHB.

What do you say Adelaide - 34 and Rotham for 24? A bargain piece of business. Make Josh the Pride of SA!!!

Can we start a rumour that Josh has been noticeably upset the club has been strong arming his brother and demanded he join the Beagles???

I noted that some posters have stated the man we formerly know as the Pieman. Was I missing when the political correctness pills were handed out or is there a pact on the board?
There was some discussion after he nailed the draft that some thought the Pieman monicker was disrespectful and I believe the mods endorsed a no-pieman soft ruling.

Williams CHF
Allen FF
Darling and Maric as third tall/flankers

Waterman depth
Will not be playing 4 Talls in this faster modern game. 3 is sometimes too many.

Get Darling & Waterman outta ya head. Waterman will not play an AFL game in 2024.
He is 10kg down in weight. They are being phased out right in front of your face and you can not see it? Then we draft ZZ & Livingstone both with Ruck/Fwd Qualities. Jack Williams there too. Don't forget Barnett is probably the long term ruckman.

Play 4 Tall Fwds 🤣🤣 Oh my lord
Do you remember 2018 fwd line?

Went to a gypsy tarot reader today.
She predicted a future scene; WCE v NM at Optus
Flynn wins the tap, Ginbey shitmixes Sheezel in a contest at CBD and gets it out to advantage
Next CBD Elijah gets the ball, gives Sheezel a heavy don't argue, runs clear and delivers perfectly to Oscar.
Later, Harley takes a hanger over Sheezel forward and kicks a banana goal from 45 out.

She also mentioned a scene where Harley rocked up to Optus on a hog with a bronzed beauty riding tandem, so not sure if it's true. Maybe the gypsy lied.
I know what I prefer to believe...she did have party pies, TBF.
Moral? Ginbey/Hewett>Sheezel. Reid, No 9, future Prince of Perth.*
Sheezel flies back to Mum, Harley laughs towards the east.
She also said if I continue spending too much time keeping up with this thread it will shorten my lifespan... whatever

*just take Reid:cool:

So if Yeo is heading off.
www.zerohanger.com/the-right-offer-could-tempt-west-coast-into-trading-midfielder-following-rivals-interest-afl-trade-news-144162/

Tim Kelly is the only senior Mid.
Gaff & Sheed are plonkers

Pick 1 Reid

If Oliver is drug & wrong crowd related then he is bound for an interstate club outside Victoria and the trade may end up being big time unders due to his strikes etc. We have seen players in WA having to play interstate for the exact same reason wrong crowds they have grown up with.

Imagine these all come off the books 2023.
Shuey, Hurn, Nic Nat Retired
Yeo - Gold Coast
Gaff, Darling
Sheed to Fremantle for Brodie.

All had rumours surrounding them. Don't blink an eye because i can feel a some major changes a foot. Where there is smoke there is fire. I'm all for the carnage after the last few years.

She missed the bit - where Wardlaw was sprinting down the wing to catch Harley and he pinged his hammy once again.

So in the third minute of the second quarter, North go a man down early in the game.

I'm confused. Isnt Twomey saying the exact same thing as you (Curtin will go 5/6)? Dont get the anger.
Yeah sorry I blown a head gasket and didn't read your post. Just brushed over it and assumed you said Twomey said we picking Curtin at pick 2.

My apologies on that one. I stuffed up 😂
I'm my defence I'm two beers in

She didn't see him playing at all.
And that it was Curtins on Kanga's season

Curtin won’t be on the table at pick 6.

I’m very happy to stake my claim on that.
If norf have 2 and 3 or 2 and 5 (GC) they take Curtin with the 2nd pick out of necessity.
I honestly don't rate Curtin 1 v 1 as a key defender.
Walter gave him a bath in the champs then he struggled the next game also so they moved him to the midfield.

Sure he has talent , great kick but a key defender at this stage he is not

Flynn doing the crash and bash rucking with Bailey Williams to be the support act and using his leap to better advantage.

I feel it will be a decent combination and stop us being tempted with Jack and Darling rucking in the forward line.

Welcome to West Coast Errol.

He's in like Flynn.

Just looking up his stats - seems to be the similar height/weight as B.Wiliams. But it woild be hard for us to easily get a 206+cm monster unless we go for English as a free agent next year.

Yep, that is the part that anyone who is too emotionally invested in Reid is not recognising.

No issue getting upset if we do trade it - about the actual value. But ‘not accepting offers’ would be the dumbest stance ever.

What if it is 2 + 3, or 2,3,4? Or 2,3,4 + F1st? There is a point where it turns from negligence in taking the offer to negligence in not taking the offer.

Will an offer of the second type happen? Who knows, but we should absolutely be comfortable fielding offers (and equally comfortable saying no).

Id be VERY comfortable saying no!.After Reid and McKercher there doesnt appear to be any standout mids.Would you be willing to trade a potential superstar for two possibly very good mids?
Last years draft ran very deep on mids probably the best ive seen. When you consider Hewitt went at ;what? 14?
There will always be a couple of guys who suprisingly go great guns but i wouldnt bet Reid to try and find them.
Me? I wouldnt pick Curtin in my top 10!!

So this is my Opinion-

We need Reid- all our Premiership team is gone and just about every cult hero and keeping everything as it is , is the best option. Its a bums on seat must have , not only for the same, but also to the ceiling, we knew Daicos was a gun, and we know reid is a gun, why not pick someone who looks like a Dusty.)
Id just love to see Simmo’s next tilt to a flag with last years draft crop and Reid/Robertson.

However- if a deal too good to refuse comes, we take it. Assuming victorian clubs will bid for Reid
Id accept 2 picks in the top 6 and a pick in the 20-30s that goes straight to brisbane for DRobertson though/ aswell as a future first or second. Yes, if this is too much to ask for then we keep Reid. Melbourne have what we want. And we have what Melbourne wants.(i think)
North Melbourne have an even better hand of picks that we would want and they know what the Fanfare of Reid can bring for that club over a Curtain type.

That would give us say
4,5,20,(DRobertson),Brockman,Flynn

Durrsma and Caddy would be my preferred picks in that range as Curtain and Mckercher will be long gone. If either of them are not taken for whatever reason like the Tasmania team factor. We take them and one of the other X Factor boys (Dursma,Caddy,Watson)

In an ideal world we wouldnt need Flynn because we be doing all we can to offer English whatever it takes to come home instead of being paid less money to stay with bevo. However it seems the Dogs may just keep Naughton and English and remove others so flynn will do for a high pick and compliment Williams well, like Vardy/Lycett 2018, but Williams has the ceiling to pass both of them i think.

Assuming the club blames the fitness approach and hired new fitness staff, that tells me none of the 2018 boys who spent half the year on the sidelines will be up for trade unless they request to be which doesnt seem to be the case. Nobody wants to leave this great club. 40,000 at home games in the most beautiful stadium when in last place with 50% percentage.

I have one question,

Are we allowed to trade next years first rounder ? Or have we used that up in the past already and not allowed to use this as an option this year with the draft laws?

If we are able to trade next years future first for a club who doesnt need pick 10ish this year i would take that too and solidify keeping pick 1 and then consider splitting that pick 10.

Id imagine its worth pick 10 at the moment as we are favourites to ein the spoon and be giving away a future #1.
But we need the rebuild NOW
We will have so much money next year to simply go for the big free agents and try to bring them home.

I dont know how hard it would be, but id love to see coniglio play 1 year in the Blue And Gold before he retires if we need that leadership that we have lost.
I think the Petrie and Mitchell 1-2 year deals worked extremely well.
On the top of my head on Coniglio 2024-2025 for one year springs to mind if he is open to the idea of coming home ofcourse.

I would also be offering a 40+ pick or future 3rd for Will Brodie - assuming he doesnt want to play Wafl. He was a top 150 player last year. And now his not worth the value of a top 500 player thanks to Fremantle

Is Curtin still on the board at current pick 5 (as that is likely pick 6/7 on draft night)?
