Hello Eagles fans!

The embedded resources below are kept up to date by the trade board mods (as much as possible – we are human after all). Enjoy!

I’m happy with the Flynn signing. Needed a mature body to support BBBW and the developing Barnett. Seemed to put up decent numbers early this season for the Giants and also in the reserves.

I can’t see Jamo getting many opportunities next year, perhaps worth trialling him as a tall athletic defender in the Beagles.

Welcome Flynny!

Tall defender is what I feel the club wants to explore. We previously had a pretty decent record developing talls off the rookie list.

Harry Edwards looks too cumbersome at times, easily lost on the lead. Good in pack situations or intercepting poor kicks but lacks 'servability' to bring back an old favourite.

Jamieson is quicker and more agile. If he can learn the trade as a defender he has the athletic attributes to compete. Look how hot the KP defender trade market is ATM. He's a project tall.

Flynn doing the crash and bash rucking with Bailey Williams to be the support act and using his leap to better advantage.

I feel it will be a decent combination and stop us being tempted with Jack and Darling rucking in the forward line.

Welcome to West Coast Errol.

That risk could happen with anyone we choose that isn't from WA.

- Choose McKercher as the next best available? He could go back to Tassie.

- Pick Duursma? Maybe he gets homesick.

- Walter not available.

Throw a blanket over the rest in regards to go home fears.

So you're straight up limiting yourself to reaching for Curtin because he's considered the only non flight risk in the top 10.

Then next year if you have a top 20 pick you're basically screwed.

So there's zero point worrying about players going home after their initial contract because anyone we pick has the same option.

In all honesty, the only thing that could lure him back here is the Tasmanian team offering him a fat cheque and overpaying him.

Aside from that, him getting a taste of Perth might be enough.

Player retention and recruiting quality players will be of some issue for Tasmania.

Our 2024 1st will get us a very nice mid.

This is the draft with many more talls. So I wouldnt bring forward that pick for either of those talls. We can take a tall later this draft. ZZ etc.
Fair call RE talls, we can go mids at the top. This suggestion takes into account where the picks land and who is available after PP/compo/NGA. Given GC interest in Yeo and points and Crows interest in Chol, Burgess and Sam Draper next year:

WCE:
OUT: F1 (1), 34, 39, 53, Yeo (3679 points)
IN: 4, 9, 21 (4381)

Crows:
OUT: 9, 21, F1 (9) (3816)
IN: WCE F1 (1), Chol, Burgess (3000)

Gold Coast:
OUT: 4, (2034 points), Chol, Burgess
IN: 34, 39, 53 Crows F1 (9) (2690 points), Yeo

Eagles: 1,4,9,20,21
1-Reid
4-McKercher/Sanders/Curtin
9-Wilson/Windsor
20-ZZ/Schoenmaker
21-Stevens/Edwards/Freijah
57-trade for Brockman

Call me an optimist but if we draft well and stay healthy I think we can do a lot better next year and finish off the bottom to make this a good deal. I’d much rather spilt nexts year’s F1 and trade into this draft than trade Reid away.

Had Flynn as a backup ruck in my SuperCoach draft side a few times over the years. Always scored pretty well but then would get omitted and switched around with Mumford, Preuss and now Briggs

Very pleased with the Matt Flynn news

Hope he is a successful in his Eagles transition as Hunt was this year.

Hunt last year and now Flynn a couple of pieces of smart business by the Pie Man well done. 👍

You do realise the club picked up a free agent last year....

Agree but we can't be concerned over taking the best player just because of an attempt to manipulate go home vibes.

Because they're blinded by Curtin being the best WA prospect, despite the fact that ROB lives in Melbourne and has consistently picked Vic players in the first rounder over WA prospects.

I think if you delve a bit further into this you’ll find that Curtains, generally speaking at least, do a great job at blocking out light

Changing the conversation. Who are our genuine wingers. Who's our Olli Holland's, Sidebottom.

With pace skill and smarts.

Gaff cooked
Sheed to slow, one way player.
Hunt ok for next 2 yrs
Chesser?
Hough?

We need 2 of them for next 10yrs.

Is there anyone in the draft who is elite runner 6 flat 2km trial, sub 3s 20m.

Agree with you that watchers should not assume we are balls in to Curtin. About a month ago I had lunch with a business partner of Curtin's father and he confirmed that other clubs, but not West Coast, had done their home visits. It does not sound like balls in to me.

We’ve said balls too much, can we at least agree on that? ROB was a bit busy taking in the picturesque sights of Tongala the last time they were due to hang, but did say he’d ‘catch him on flipside’. ROB’s quite the personality
