Hello Eagles fans!

The embedded resources below are kept up to date by the trade board mods (as much as possible – we are human after all). Enjoy!

Keys you may like to sticky this post & move it to the start of the thread (so the sticky post doesn't rotate if a post is deleted before it), or copy it to your draft thread if you have one.

Surely we need more of these guys developing. Currently we only really have Hough, Chesser, Burgiel and baker developing across the backline and wings. Hough the only one thats really proven himself and he looks more a lock down intercepting back anyway.
Oh, not saying we shouldn't pick another one, jut people probably think we may have enough.

Suspect we'll get some offers tomorrow.
I've got an offer for you now. You fancy a tic-tac?

ClAll in all, yesterday was a disaster. We are an historically bad team and we picked up a single player in the top 30. That's no rebuild. Best we can hope of today is a fluke or two.

Hehe, dunno if I'd call it a DISASTER there cob 👏

it was a bit lame yes, with missing Curtin then the way the picks we wanted fell after, but it's not at Fold the Club levels yet.

Ollie Murphy is rated as a first rounder and clearly slid yesterday. Add him at pick 30 then pretend and tell yourself we traded down and got him with pick 18.

Suddenly things start to look a little less Eeyore, amirite.

Thanks for listening.

Hindsight says we should have really attacked Gold Coasts pick 4.

Bulldogs gave up 10,17 and their F1

What did we have in our kitbag to better that when the Suns priority was points over future picks so our F1 and our R2 that was about 20 at the time wouldn’t have helped

People were unhappy we were offering our F1 to get Curtin. Would have cost more than our F1 to get 4 who we would have used on Curtin

What's the knock on simpson? Seems impressive.
He was injured for a chunk of the season.

Haven’t seen his combine tests but I thought he probably lacked a yard of pace from watching him. Not saying he’s slow either just not quick. Wouldn’t mind him if we took the punt on him.

He’s a bit like Cleary was in here just not flavour of the month.

By the end of tonight, we’ll have doubled the number of top 30 players that we picked up this year.

The melts are truly ridiculous. We split last year perfectly and this year we could have done but took a young 🐐. This range we are drafting in for our remaining picks today there is still plenty of tasty options, I’ve got faith in ROB and his team. Next year we go large again with a top 5 pick. Rebuild already years underway and mid season draft picks solid. Yes it was a balls draft, but we are a powerhouse club.

Not obsessed with ‘accelerating our climb up the ladder’ and being a middling finals side, but rather - building our next premiership side the best way we can and with what we have to work with. Really excited to see these picks come in today, get around them

Ash Smith was tkhe last combined champ we had wasnt he? Its but a consideration.

What a strange take on Simpson.

Really strange.

A super quick, line breaking mid who loves to run and carry.

He stands out big time with his explosive run.

And you feel he'll be forgotten in two years?
Simpson also saying where ever he is drafted he wants to be a 1 club player and is very loyal .

The fact he is a shuey clone and shuey is now our midfield development coach almost a perfect fit .

I never wanted us to get any extra picks, but i sure as hell didnt want North (or any other club) to get so blatantly propped up like the AFL has been doing.
The AFL is a corrupt, compromised joke of a league
Actually think the whole talk on North compo has let what's happening with GC and NSW teams slip under the radar. There advantage of academy picks is way worse then what North have done.

Gold Coast
3 rated top 10 picks this year and two more gun top 10 picks next year expected to go academy

Not to mention GWS Swans and Brisbane advantage likewise.

These are way worst and affecting the draft a lot more then whats happening with compo

One thing I hope that our CEO brings is a preparedness to publicly squabble with AFL House. While I appreciate the dignified way we conduct ourselves, this is getting beyond a joke.

The one thing the AFL genuinely fears is a public mess. I hope we show our fangs once or twice and really get into the advocacy business on draft and fixture fairness. It's truly beyond the pale now.

29 first round picks is a joke.

One of the better ideas I have heard is that if you want to bid for F/S or academy, then one of the picks you convert for the bid needs to be in the same round. None of this trading picks 46, 47 and 65 for 15 bull$hit.
well they had to jam in all the North picks....

Simpson is rapid acceleration wise.

yeah 5 first round picks for North

"Gather Round" that gives a free hit for the 2 SA clubs in exchange for a bucket-load of cash

Fixtures based on one thing only - how much $$ will they bring in

feel free to add more corrupt AFL actions

That's surprsing to hear based off the explosive power I saw (minimum footage in fairness). You're talking about Cooper Simpson not George Stevens yeah?

Yeah good point. But while I don't agree with what North received, priority picks aren't all that common, let alone 3 of them in round 1. And we all know the McKay compensation was a rort.

But F/S and academy happen every year.
