Hello Eagles fans!

The embedded resources below are kept up to date by the trade board mods (as much as possible – we are human after all). Enjoy!

Keys you may like to sticky this post & move it to the start of the thread (so the sticky post doesn't rotate if a post is deleted before it), or copy it to your draft thread if you have one.

Saw chris25 mention in his mock draft thread that Fremantle where interested in Rawlinson. An area that I feel like has been overlooked by many in the last few years is that we lack good small pressure forwards (This may be because the list of problems has been pretty big). The ball at times seems to get walked out of the FWD 50 by the opposition with ease. Saw someone a few pages back complain that a player of his type isn't needed but it is in IMO 100% a need.

Can you publicly post a completely made up 3 way trade between 3 clubs that don't exist in a fantasy league? 🙃

Hmmm yes.

Souths pick 1
Angels pick 3
Sexy Guys 6, 11, 15 and 17

Yep. Clarko just proved he's a bit of s tosser doing that.
I think they were trying to spook us into taking Curtin with Pick 1 so they could get Reid. Thats my theory. They thought we wanted Curtin more than Reid but would take Reid with the first pick and gamble on Curtin sliding and still being there at 8, unless they spooked us into think Curtin would be gone with Pick 2 or 3.

North's enthusiasm to publicise Clarkson's supposed "infatuation" with Curtin made it fairly obvious that it was a scam and part of the information warfare.

Did anyone credible confirm that meeting took place?

North was well aware who was 1 on our list and it wasn't Curtin.

No Harley Reid's next year and a larger range of top end talent at least. We'll get a great prospect.

But I reckon we'll trade it for multiple picks.
Id be comfortable splitting with the current proposed names, unless its o'sullivan I think he'd add great polish inside and outside for the midfield we're putting together.

Sydney, GWS, GC and Brisbane in particular aren't afraid.

Melbourne & North on the other hand🙄
Because most WA lads know they’ll have to move when drafted.

So the Northern clubs know the kids are more prepared and aren’t mummy’s boys.

Also helps many of the kids are used to travelling just to play colts footy, because of how big WA is. Not everyone plays for a club in their own suburb.

Picks 6,11,15,17 became

7 - Windsor
13 - Tholstrup
20 - Goad
22 - Dawson

If we had those picks this I’m guessing at

7 - Curtin
13 - Tholstrup
20 - A Reid (said to be in our top 15)
22 - Collard (we tried trading up for him)
30 - Hall (think we would have caused a 5th pick in this scenario)

Could have got a F3 for 40 and a F4 for 49 had we held onto them. May also have done a trade with 30 to move back a spot or two knowing we’d still be able to get Hall

Reid v Curtin
Tholstrup v Johnston
Collard v Rawlinson

Plus an extra 2 or 3 late future picks than we have now

I’d suggest there might have been some long discussions over that trade offer because it spits out a good result

Harley must have been damn impressive in his interviews with the club

Also the reported best offer per Gugs9 post of 2,15,17 is essentially the same as 6,11,15,17 as we would have been able to get 6 and 11 for 2

North with 1,3,18 get Reid, one of Duursma/McKercher and probably Dawson. So Reid instead of one of Duursma or McKercher, Goad and Hardeman

I can see why they never offered more than 2,15,17

If Souths were willing to offer 3, 15 and 17 for 1 as part of a three-way trade involving Angels, then it stands to reason they would also be willing to offer 2, 15 and 17 directly, knowing Sexy Guys intended to draft Drapes with pick 2.

It's a decent result but no A-grade mids, which every contending team needs (unless Curtin goes on to become Bontompelli-esque). Ultimately what we ended up with looks marginally better with the potential star in the middle, as opposed to Tholstrup and Hall (who we got anyway), with Curtin down back and Collard up front.

Looks like we’ll be taking Livingstone in the rookie draft

We have absolutely zero need for him and he’s not very good imo, I feel like we constantly miss on the margins now. Just do not like our draft picks in the later rounds for the most part and not using the rookie draft to get a better player like Sanchez, De La Rue, Patto etc. is annoying.

He’s a Cat B rookie. You can’t draft Sanchez as a Cat B rookie.

You’d need to go find an Irishman or other sport convert to fill your Cat B rookie spots.

He’s a free hit in that regard.

Yeah we needed to pick up two forward half players this draft and we have done that with Rawlison and Johnston. Now we have eight small forwards / high half forwards which means we are set.
