What's the knock on him? Too small?

He's 183cm, so he's actually not that small. I think he may have slid a little in the draft order because he didn't have as good a year in the championships - similar to Darcy Tucker - and clubs generally like to see improvement in their draftees (hence bolters like Bont and Stringer). I still rate him pretty highly though, and would be stoked if we could get him

WA draft combine on today , I like Marlon Pickett as a rookie or late pick . Versatile type with great pace .

Others nominated by an AFL club to attend include -

Sam Menegola
Shane Yarran
Marcus Adams
Jared Bell ( Perth )
Marlon Pickett
Josh Branchi
Darcy Cameron
Shane McAdam
Francis Watson
Nathan Broad
Jimmy Miller

Jimmy Miller is an 18 yr old from Exmouth playing for Hale School in the Public Schools Competition . Miller played one colts game at SF and at 194cm is the smokie of the WA combine .
Fremantle believed to have interviewed Miller last month and suspicions that Fremantle and Hale coach Jason Norrish are trying to hide the young tall !!

Dispicable !

SAM MENEGOLA seriously want him I think he will make the grade as a inside mid at afl level.
Would use pick 37 to get him.
Jimmy Miller we should be having a good look at him, has some talent, its his movement as a KP that has people excited about him.

As for draft if we can get a lower pick would love a Darcy Tucker or Callum Ah chee not much else in that first round appeals to me.

Second round Daniel Rioli would be nice

Third round Jordan Snadden his draft camp results just confirmed my thinking on him.
(lovely class kick, great size very aggressive at the contest and Judd like pace) A bit like Jackson Nelson production was low
so dropped greatly in the draft. Snadden in a AFL program working on his endurance and production
could become a very good player.

If we can somehow convert Rosa to Brendon Ah Chee i will be incredibly happy.

Hopefully we can swap picks with a academy club for lower pick.

Reckon Sydney's 1st pick might be on our radar
For all 3 of our potential second rounders?

Actually not a terrible trade for Sydney (2 second rounders that is).
Pick 14 is worth 1161 points.
We've currently got picks 36 (502 points) and 37 (483 points).
For argument's sake if Essendon give us pick 25 (756 points) we could conceivably pay pick 25 and pick 36 (total value 1258 points) for pick 14 and Sydney are 97 points ahead.

Where is the link for points value??

Given our ins - wouldn't be surprised to see us take 1 high pick, a late pick for a ruckman and maybe a rookie upgrade to fulfil our 3 mandatory list selections

Stephen Tahana was All Australian in his underage year as a lockdown small defender. This year he's become more of an inside midfielder.
Expected to go around early second to late third. Would definitely like to pick him up. His versatility means he can lock down those dangerous small forwards like Cyril and Walters if they're causing problems and can otherwise run through the midfield. Classy and quick.

Sounds like he fits -

Have a feeling Hawks will take Rioli at 15

Read the article! Mobile, a good long kick and a great set of hands. Sound like good attributes to me, and coming off a big year. Obviously, if he has been requested to test, he has enough people liking what he provides. I hope we are all over it.
Alright alright.... I didn't see the article. I'm just really skeptical of these hype articles about hidden/mysterious players that come out near draft time.

He did only get 8 touches and 2 marks in his 1 WAFL game too.

AFL trades: West Coast Eagles big winners of trade period according to Champion Data analyst

AFTER a shocking surge from outside the top eight in 2014 all the way to the grand final this season, surely West Coast had done enough winning in 2015.

But according to Champion Data expert Jacob Wilson, the Eagles have been the big winners so far in the trade period.

Five days in, West Coast has made two major moves. The first was a trade with the Brisbane Lions for midfielder Jack Redden, sending out their first round draft pick (currently pick 17) for the 24-year-old.

“He can really supplement their midfielders,” Wilson explained on Fox Footy’s Market Watch podcast.

They … really played (Dom) Sheed as their third midfielder last year along with (Elliot) Yeo.

“If they bring Redden in there that moves Sheed back to four and Yeo can play as that wildcard going forward, going back, on a wing or whatever they want to do with him.”

Western Bulldogs champion and Fox Footy analyst Brad Johnson agreed, believing the move will do wonders for Yeo, who finished 10th in the club’s best and fairest count in 2015.

“Elliot Yeo … is the ultimate swingman for them,” Johnson said.

“(It’s) the way he can intercept mark defensively and get the ball going forward for them, but then as a forward he can kick multiple goals.

“There may be some flexibility for him through the wing now with (Andrew) Gaff dominating on the other side.”

The other major trade made by West Coast was player for player, as they sent ruckman Callum Sinclair to Sydney for speedy Swan Lewis Jetta. Champion Data analyst Wilson was high on the move.

“Bringing in (Lewis) Jetta for (Callum) Sinclair, that was a really nice move as well,” Wilson said.

“They’ll probably lose (Matt) Rosa but Jetta for Rosa is an upgrade.

Looking to replace Sinclair as their second ruckman, the Eagles have been linked to Essendon’s Jonathan Giles, who according to Wilson would be an ideal fit.

“Giles has kicked 40 goals from his 56 career matches, so he’s a proven goalkicker which is what they need to complement Nic Naitanui,” he said.

“There’s really good signs for them this trade period.”

If you asked most footy analysts which club has been the winner of the trade period so far, many would have said Geelong after the Cats brought in Patrick Dangerfield and Lachie Henderson.

However trading out so much currency in the form of multiple draft picks, including first round selections in 2015 and 2016, will hurt while Wilson gave the Eagles the nod on degree of difficulty.

“(Geelong has) made the easy moves, picking up Henderson and Dangerfield. West Coast has really found the nuggets,” he said

No Geelong has made the smartest moves by virtually snaring Dangerfield and Henderson for pittance and Selwood came free...

Geelong has recruited for a premiership run, if we can snare another experienced mid type we can say we have done extremely well.

Aaron Young from Port?

Shhhh...

This will be our little secret. While everyone was watching Bennel, Dangerfield, Treloar and McCarthy we came in under the radar.

Just the way I like, they will find out soon enough in round 1 2016.

Yeah, i know where you are coming from. As mentioned, this sort of thing has happened before, but i think this is a little different in that he has been down in Perth in the school system. The game you mention ... well, the weather was a stinker with rain pissing down. Not ideal conditions for a KPF. The state combine results should be up by now, shouldn't they?

Wouldn't say Henderson is a pittance. Round 1 2016 in a strong draft for a player that has never been a star. Dangerfield wasn't cheap either.

Dangerfield is an important pickup though because Geelong's midfield is actually quite weak. Whether Dangerfield will be enough to make a difference we will have to see.

I was thinking the other day, Geelong a real smokey for top 4 next year.

A few months ago you were excited about Mitch Antonio is he still a chance to go late in the draft or rookie draft?

Didn't get state screening so only a rookie chance.
Is as skillfull as any that will get drafted and a beautiful kick,
just very skinny, should of played for WA especially when we struggled to kick goals.
