One of the most expendable on the list. If he can yield a pick, even better. On Aarts, he should have never been drafted.

Butler officially requested a trade to Saints.

Mitch Clearly reckons a 4th or 5th round pick will do the job.

Scully last year for a future 4th and now Sam Frost for a 2nd rounder and a few later pick swaps come to mind right off the bat
There are a few other examples as well

It remains to be seen if it pays off long term and results in success on field but they are definitely making good deals for mine

Taking huge salaries off clubs books for players past being worth that salary ... you get a discount

Reports are we're giving Butler up for nothing then at least make it worthwhile and get something of actual value out of it, even if it's only moving up 2 spots in the first round

Trouble is you are involving the Cats in this and the are campaigners to deal with.
They would probably only want to give us a pick in the 30’s so we lose Butler and move down in the draft!!

I get it but you can't expect him to hang around waiting for a couple of injuries. Nor should we stop him if he gets a better opportunity. He had a couple of cracks this year and did nothing. Best to let him have a go elsewhere.

We probably won't get anything in real terms for Butler, probably would though if St Kilda was not so busy with trades this year.
Probably a third round at best.
Stack, Bolton and Pickett all surpass Butler.
Yes, they will have to assess Markov and Moore at the end of 2020.
Both will have been in the system for five years.

Prepare to be furious then.

Have faith in the club, they know what they're doing. We're going to look after our player who lived our values even when he was stuck in the VFL - we aren't like certain other clubs who treat their players like dirt.

I suspect they know it's better to let him go where he wants to clear his salary. We will bring in new draftees and they'll become Richmond men.

We still have Rance, Higgins, RCD, Turner, Naish, Graham and Stack who will all be playing next year - Butler doesn't stand a chance.
