At moments like these, I wish clubs were more aggressive; for example I would have a chat with Todd Marshall. We don't necessarily need to trade for him, but just let him know that his spot within port isn't guranteed for the next 2-3 years and he's welcome at the pies. He wouldn't fit in the team with Westhoff, Dixon and Watts. It gives him something to think about next year when he's out of contract.

I suspect that a fair bit of that does go on.

Comes a lot closer if all three of Sinclair, Ramsay and Smith are delisted. Plus there's always the option of delisting a contracted player and potentially rookie listing them. Oxley could be a candidate there.
Oxley will be delisted and re rookied

The same number we give for Mayne and Wells. Applying the Kappa logic we nailed those deals.

Unfortunately there's two elements to picking up a player and you've ignored one of them.
That’s not true, we lost Brown for Mayne and Wells.

We’re definitely losers even without considering FA picks.

I can only assume our TPP must be pretty stuffed given how quiet we've been.

Yeah okay keep pick 6 but how about trades involving next years 2nd round or looking to upgrade pick 38?

I'd love to know if we've floated any players in seeking a way to gain a pick inside the 2nd round and been knocked back.

I'm not convinced Hine is the most inventive thinker around when it comes to more complex trade scenarios.

But why haven't they told us punters about it.

Then I can say something like, well we did give Mayne a four year contract at $2M, so why not get him.

Would 100% rather Schache. 1000%

Or - we are sticking to 95% TPP, adjusting forward some contracts, and saving for next year when some elite FA's could be available.

We spent the last couple of years bringing players in (both young and old). Right now the club may well be thinking that it will only chase someone if they make a clear, medium-to-long term improvement to our 22, and/or if they come at the right price, otherwise we just go to the draft and focus on developing our squad from within, whilst planning on potential FA's a year from now.

In reality without transparency of contracts we don't have any accurate idea of where we are (other than b/w 95-105% of TPP's, same as every other club). I don't think us being quiet this trade periods gives you much insight on our cap position - especially when some of us actually think doing nothing is the best thing we couldve done. (Outside of getting someone elite, or for significant unders)

But but there was a slide......

Hence why Ned Guy was hired to do it instead?
