Essendon could and should finish in the 8 so you're effectively trading Langdon to move up 6-8 places in the draft?

400 to 450k/3 year deal might be enough.

Matt Suckling went to the Dogs on around 450k for 3 seasons and triggered end of 2nd round.

Fas a year or 2 younger than Suckling at the time of his move.
Gotta take in to account the CBA increase hadn’t happened back then though....

Just one first round pick is enough for Shiel

This is more accurate.

Translation for those of you at home;

Tom wants to stay at Collingwood.

Collingwood have not given up on May.

Collingwood are waiting to see what happens with Hogan/Neale and where that leaves May’s prospective move to Melbourne.

If May gets to Melbourne, Langdon expects that we will increase our contract offer to him.

Until then, Lucas is doing his job and not letting Langdon look like the ugly step-sister while holding out for a bit more money.

Langdon waits to see if we get May or are looking like it ?

Then.

A) accepts the contract offered within a strengthened backline.

B) takes more coin else

We are out of race for May

A) backs that we up his offer slightly

B) takes more coin elsewhere

I’m not fussed either way want to keep him but want to improve our list we may have only list by 5 points this year but at the end of the day we didn’t win it and came up short.

Wow, I had no idea what you were talking about when you first replied. Had another look just then and noticed the G. #Laurel #BlueDressBlackStripes
It’s all good man

Ie: Saul Goodman.

(Have to know the show then it’s extra funny)

Like Langdon but understand him moving.
We already have a heap of back flanker types and are looking at Kelly and Quaynor.

4th round incoming

There is no such thing - it's 3rd round or nothing.

If Conca can (theoretically) warrant an end of 2nd round pick for a 3 year contract at age 26 (which you wouldn't imagine would be for more than $400-450k per year), then surely a Fasolo leaving for a $300-350k per year contract over 3 years at the same age would warrant a 3rd round pick.

I would be beyond shocked if Langdon was seriously entertaining going to GWS. Am guessing a hundred k (or even a few) in the scheme of things for him is likely not the motivator it might be for most other players. He certainly wouldn't be going up there for the big game experience. Could only be because he sees a better role there for himself - which again, doesn't appear compelling.

Sounds like Lucas is throwing out some catnip for the reporters just to boost interest?

Essendon would probably push that. But in the context of the Treloar trade we got a second round back for trading two firsts. If Essendon gave up two firsts, GWS would have to find a second to give back.
2019 second. That was easy.
