Anyone aware of what Goddard’s weaknesses are? In a position of dire need a one year deal that cost us nothing wouldn’t seem like a bad option to see if we can de St Kilda him.

But I haven’t seen enough of him to see if it’s worth it but with Dunn and Goldsack ACL and old, Shaz ACL, Moore and Reid constantly injured and Moore potentially gone, we need options and Will Kelly regardless of ability won’t be any good next year if we draft him.

Treacle slow and poor kick

Wouldnt be mad if we rookied Hugh Goddard.

Upside definitely outweighs the downside.

Why would we want Hugh Goddard when he was just delisted from one of the worst teams in the comp. Doesn't improve us. Next.
That same club delisted a bloke a few weeks after his debut when they just finished nursing him for 3 years, he also dominated in the twos when played there.

The clubs currently as poor off field as it is on, so to say they made have made another mistake here wouldnt be a stretch.

Giving carton and saints pp isn’t helping gc.
They the afl just can't give GC priority; so they give a few clubs picks so they can ensure Gc gets extra.

Personally I'd give nobody no extra picks - it's a ridiculous concept. But integrity and AFL

Its no good
2nd That. Would love us to take him even IF it's just for Depth.

Cost only a List Spot and his Wage be minimal
If we want depth, keep the likes of Smith, Goldsack (durable prior to his knee injury) and Blair (doesn't miss). Forget Goddard.. How would be be getting him for depth when he can't get on the field. He will be taking up space in the medical room. He provides nothing.

I have only watched one game of the juniors and it was the one against the Vics.

Rankine was clearly the best player..........but Lukosious is the one Adelaide has a hard on over.

Now with McGovern going even more so.

Knightmare also a Massive Fan

Then why could he not get a Game at the Dogs Then?

Was behind too many. Dogs have Adams, Trengrove, Young, Naughton, Fletcher... all defenders over 190cm.

A ready made cheap pick up.... but it could turn out like Schade did for us. He should only be plan C if we don't land an experienced defender like Thompson, or a VFL gun like Sam Collins.

Don't think Collingwood needs to go too silly this trade period. The list obviously isn't that dire considering the club finished top 4 with huge injury concerns throughout the year so I'd expect names like Hugh Goddard, Hartung and others would barely raise an eyebrow.

I'm sure they'll stick to the plan and look at any A-grade KPP that may be available and willing to join and still identify talent from the draft to build up the list and keep it on track for the next 5 year outlook. Some of these guys like Mihocek are well advanced on where anyone would've predicted before the season started due to the number of games experienced through injury. Keep building with youth and quality, fill the needs.

The Hun's Trade TV reckon we've enquired about Lukosius, which is absolutely jaw-dropping if we have considering our first pick will be late in the first round.

They also think Beams is not going to Collingwood, we should be exploring McGovern and Brendan Goddard, and apparently all of Lynch's management saying how interested we are was a smokescreen... Somehow...

On Goddard, I'd take him and slot him in on a back flank. Just for that sheer quality of ball use and that experience and leadership. It's an addition and perhaps a necessary one if Sam Murray gets done for the ASADA business. He still wants it. His heart is still in it. Just adding that stability beyond Dunn who has been terrific bringing that.

And then where does Howe or Crisp (two AA standard HBF's this season) go?
