I'm not gonna lie. I like the way Hawthorn do business.
Could bake fire is they have reneged on a “in principle” deal

Clubs may not bother working with them in the future or just simply not entertain pick swaps and what not

Not much to add this time around - everything is pretty much out in the open already.

If Freo table 10, 11, and 18, and if Baker agrees, Richmond will take it.

Pick 3 almost certainly not part of a Baker and/or Bolton trade. Richmond prefers quantity of picks in the top 20, and will be open to live-trading options during the draft.

Richmond expects something in addition to 6 for Rioli. Internally acknowledged that it's unlikely to be 13. At this stage it's looking likely to end up being steak-knives this year, or a 2025 pick.

Conversations being had with Carlton re pick swaps to help them safeguard the twins. A few other dominoes to fall first though.

...and that's about it. Early days still, and plenty could change as other pieces of the puzzle are slotted into place. Richmond remain very confident of coming away with a very strong draft hand.

Welcome back Yappie

In some ways carlton has done good business - if they make top 4 next year. They pick up 2 really good players and the compo twins. And trade out into a (currently) weaker draft

Hawks have screwed up their chase for Barass unless they make some unexpected deal.

And WCE are in nowhere land. Unless they trade out 3.

Just made all this more interesting.

Pick 20 could be useful to us.

In some ways? I cant understand for the life of me why people think that Carlton got reemed.... they get 14 in a deep draft, against 2 picks they might seem as speculative at best. Even if they dont get Houston, they're now holders of 12 and 14.

I'd prefer what Carlton has done

I've been shit stirring on the Freo board. The most common response is they think they are getting Bolton + Baker + 20 for 10+11+18.

They honestly believe 10+18 gets Shai.

The problem with what Hawthorn has just done... is that Freo might just give them more confidence to do exactly the same and trade out 11 and say ... **** it... stop asking, because we dont have it.

Something in 2025 wouldn't be the worst outcome re Rioli deal.

We would just say give us the F1 if we think it's better. It's not like it's vanished.
