I'm not sure what would actually make you happy though. Forcing Bolton to stay while we still finish last, and have less opportunity to bring in young talent? Dragging it all out until the draft is even more compromised?

Balta is a star if he’s allowed to just play in his rightful position down back. He was ranked 1 for intercept marks in 2023, he’s a gun. Circumstances stuffed his 2024 campaign. Taranto and Hopper I agree are probably B Graders but both have had A grade seasons previously where they have been in AA discussions. Sadly hopper may never get his body right for the rigours of AFL footy.

taranto's 2023 was fine. Career best year. Beat Dusty for the JDM. Hopper's been injured. He can play.
We've had 4 games from Lynch last 2 years & ageing Jack R into a conveyor belt of Kosi, Ryan, Naismith, Balta, Lynch, Lefau, Bauer, even Brown rolled through there this year.

Hopper & Taranto have improved our clearances & Contested footy. 60 inside 50s vs Suns last round for 10 goals is killing us.

The fact that all the other deals are happening mean we don't need to compromise to get this over the line. Freo can keep all there picks and we will keep Bolton. They will bring in three players who will make no difference and we will still finish bottom, with or without Bolton. Bolton is young enough that we could well turn it around have us back contending towards then end of his career. Pay up or **** off Freo.

I don’t know how people can be so sure Yze can’t coach when don’t have the prices for any sort of game plan. You can’t have a forward line of kozi and Nank as ruck and expect to win footy and take marks.

Essentially we get the 10 and 11 by upgrading their 18 to 14 (or them upgrading our 14 to 11 on top of their offer of 10 & 18... Either way you want to cut it!).

Seems like a good, obvious middle ground.

Carlton's 63 68 69 72 will all come in by around 10 spots by the time bids are matched for other players.
