As long as there is one bloke over 200cm we are fine... we currently have 5 + Soldo. And Soldo could quite possibly become our ruckman with 2 more years under his belt, bloke is taller and more athletic than Maric just needs to learn how to play. He could be our Goldstein.

This might sound random but could we persuade Jackson to come out of retirement for a year or two. He'll only be 30 next year, and the year off would have done his body the world of good. He's one of the boys and the type of player we could currently use to compliment our elite outside game.

I like it, I would also go a step further, we lack a small creative fwd so I'd be in kbs ear to come back and see if he can chase down boomers game tally. We also need another classy mid so I'd be rapt if we can convince flea weightman to done the boots for a year or 2 and try and win another flag. :p

Works out well for the Tigers - Yarran and 20 for 12, absolutely no way that would happen. Maybe Yarran and 38 for 12. Your trades value Astbury highe

Would Carlton ? Yarran and 20 for 12 - no way they are looking for a 15ish pick on its own, good one for Tigers but no one else
Carlton have been asking for 12 since the start, towards the end of trade period if they are faced with being stuck with a player who doesn't want to be there and who they don't want to keep, they may well compromise and take a deal like that especially if they are getting another second round pick from the Lions for Bell.
No chance of Carlton sending 20 back, and without that your proposal is nigh on impossible
Sorry SOS, let us know what you'd like to get the deal done.
This is the most deserted this thread has been in weeks.
Wait until 2.30 Thursday afternoon it will be like Chernobyl as everyone migrates to the draft thread as we start discussing what to do with pick 12.

Just keep it realistic. He's under contract, and their list is that ****ed they lose nothing carrying a dead weight for one season thanks to a shit draft

Its like peeps thinking we will get Wines or Parker, it aint happening

They lose plenty by keeping him around. Firstly he has already shown his attitude can be very negative when he isn't enjoying his footy. Secondly having him play VFL most if not all of the year ruins his value for next year when he is a RFA so any chance of getting a decent compo pick get blown out of the water. Thirdly they are getting pick 12, which they have wanted all along, and it is only going to happen on our behalf if we're getting something back as well as Yarran. If it was a case of simply giving up 12 to get the deal done it would have been done Monday last week.

The club has rightfully rejected giving up pick 12 for Yarran for the exact reason you have alluded to . If things don't go his way he sooks and for that reason he is to high a risk at pick 12.

Don't see Soldo making it. Hope to be proven wrong

I don't believe he sooks, more that he is rather negative in his attitude and when you're trying to rebuild a list you don't need to have those sorts of blokes around. Whether yourself or others like it or not Yarran is worth a pick in the 15-25 range, if we can't get a deal done to get us a pick in that range we may well be required to offer up 12 and I'd only be happy going down that path with something else coming back too and pick 20 or the pick they get for Bell would do me. An 8-9 pick upgrade in a shallow draft is a very good return for Carlton giving up Yarran and a second round pick. Depending on what is on offer for that pick it could be a very good trade for us. Speed and skill of Yarran and maybe just maybe a big bodied midfielder like Dunkley Oliver or Hibberd.

Pick 12 & 31 for Yarran & 20. Positives are:
1. We keep Astbury for another year and see how he fits in. Replace him for Chaplin most games.
2. Pick 20 Ah Chee, Rioli or a strong bodied midfielder will still be available.
3. Next year won't have to recruit another KPD. We go all out for the elite midfielder and ruckman.
4. Yarran has X-factor and at a well run club he'll do wonders.
