Heres a few players off our list that have been 3rd round or later

Dylan Grimes
Liam Baker
Jason Castagna
Jayden Short
Ivan Soldo
Kane Lambert
Toby Nankervis
Oleg Markov
Jack Graham
Nathan Broad
Jake Aarts
Mabior Chol
Sydney Stack
Hugo Ralphsmith
Marlion Pickett

We should just trade out our first rounders and skip ahead to the 3rd round each year.

We must have a highly rated NGA next year.
We do, he won the under 17's best and fairest while he was only 14 and is said to be an absolute gun. Unless he's slid in development, wouldn't surprise me to see him top 5-10 next year or the year after (can't remember when he's 18).

Shame we won't be able to match any bids on him now.

AFL list sizes to be 38 on main list and total of 44.

Also AFL looking at three seperate rookie drafts after rounds 4,8,12 where clubs nominate players and in the event two clubs nominate one player, the player goes to the club lower on the ladder. Sounds like a terrible idea.

Because he came on quite well this year playing a third of the year, and is next in line to a player who’s only a year away from retirement. In a premiership winning team. People are referencing DES but he quite clearly went past him.
Would we be happy to trade Balta for a 3rd just because his previous few years were sh*t? It’s irrelevant whether you were close to being delisted the year before. His final year from us was quite good and had we not had a seasoned champ come back into the team would have played out the season in the best team in the comp.
"Would we be happy to trade Balta for a 3rd just because his previous few years were sh*t?"

Absolutely terrible comparison. Balta was always a work in progress but (nearly) everyone could see the potential.

Was never, ever going to be let go.

I actually posted the exact same thing about a month ago

If in the event we get approached to trade out our pick in the 1st / 2nd round similar to the way Crows were approached by Carlton for the stocker pick
we should take it. Would be so good to death ride the Pies next year

So 44 is the same as this year isn't it? Just a reduction on the main list?

We had 5 players on the verge of our premiership team that didnt play Caddy , Higgins , RCD , Ross , Aart who would all fit straight into the side
and thats even before the likes of Stack , Dow , Martyn & Ralph-Smith
RCD hasn't even played an AFL game yet. How is he on the verge of our premiership team?

Interesting, hope we upgrade Baker to the senior list as if we don’t under new rules he could walk to a club next year as a free agent without a trade being required. Don’t think he’d leave anyway but would be the smart thing for the club to do just incase he got some offers we couldn’t get near.

I think baker, Pickett and Aarts will all be on the senior list next year. I wouldn’t be surprised if we delist Garth, Miller and Egg then just re rookie 2 if not all 3 of them.

Markov was a medium forward potentially, looked very good in vfl in a lead-mark role on occasion.

only have one medium fwd in Caddy
Hoping Ralphsmith will be that player.
Also think we’ll see Dusty playing more time in the forward line giving some of our young mids more game time

Typical.lol

Not sure the Saints have anything to trade us with. They wont give up 17 and their next pick is pretty far back I think. They certainly wont be giving up any players they value for Higgo. Need to find another suitor with something better to offer us or he stays and tries to make it back into the seniors.

That's interesting, no significant interest shown in coming to the saints?...
Listened to that and think it’s just typical “playing his cards close to his chest “ tactics.
They haven’t got a lot to trade with so not talking it up, but they definitely want him.
Hope we play hard ball with this one, after all he is contracted

Big wraps on Hugo! Reckon hes a beauty and someone who we haven’t had like forever

Athletic, good runner, raking left foot on the wing.. I’m excited!

I can’t think of our last good left footer on a wing.. maybe matty knights? But he was more midfield then wing

Tivendale? Maxfield (right&left footer)? Cameron?

Really looking forward to watching him in full scale matches next year. Agree has huge upside , massive wraps from coaching staff.
