So media saying GWS will want two first rounder for Taranto and first pick for Hopper
So media saying GWS will want two first rounder for Taranto and first pick for Hopper
Yep GWS arent exactly in the van here especially with Tim.12 + future second + the biggest spud on our list is enough for both
they need to get rid of em
Actually he does not.
We have surplus small forwards.
Furthermore, I anticipate us trying to bolster our defence even further at the draft because Banks could easily end up in the guts while Brown could also go up the ground like Hugo
This is part of the problem I think. Some do not adequately recognise what we need and what we do not need.
For example the Lambert role, it is redundant, we do not want players to play this Lambert role, oppositions are well aware of it and countered it, it is old news
This is why we still persist with Pickett. He has been consistent but if we need to sorry son, your playing up forward because as the everywhere man you can and we need someone else on the flank
Flynn and Briggs aren't AFL standard ruckman. Preuss is a little injury prone and a hot head that get's suspended often.
Soldo is also from Canberra.

Baker and Short are small fowards, Rioli has played there.Running half backs/wings
Kmac
Rioli
Short
Ralphsmith
Brown
Banks
Small forwards
Cumberland
Rioli Jr
Castagna
Clarke
Aarts (probably delisted)
How you think we have a surplus of small forwards is beyond me unless you are counting guys like Baker and Stack who could just as likely play the half back/wing role
Then he's "Bolter"Balta not Bolta.
And he's the obvious one. Probably worth a lot. We could draft in a potential long term high end athletic KPD to replace him. That's how the best do it. Trade out your young stars for even younger possible stars. premierships await!!
Baker started the year as a small forward but ended it back in the backline with stints in the midfield, Short was also pushed into the midfield due to our lack of depth (something that Hopper and Taranto fixes and means they can play best position and also shore up our backline)Baker and Short are small fowards, Rioli ahs played there
Rcd will def be traded he will be viewed like will brodie , r1 draftee battled for reg game time , difference is that was at Richmond who won most weeks vs GC who lost most of the time . Bookmark it , he will be on a list next year , wouldn’t surprise at all if he did well eitherMy guess is, Martyn, Aarts and Stack will be delisted.
RCD will get traded/delisted.
Umm coz half the media barrack for catsMedia always go crazy about Geelong's list management. They like to pump up Stephen Wells big time.
It's a bit weird.

All may of been recruited as small forwards (including Rioli) but none of them play that position anymore

They don’t just fix midfield depth they mean we have a competitive midfieldWe are not winning premierships, spin the magnets, our backline is weak compared to others
What does Hopper and Taranto fix?? depth in the middle? What if Banks, Hugo and others go past them?
Am hoping they lock onto soldo so 12 and 19 then def get all done , if there’s several clubs interested that’s promising sounds like 30-40 to meJust realised Hoppers a free agent after next season. He's already contracted. I reckon let it play out wait get Taranto and a KPF this year. Hopper as a FA next year and use the 1st rounder we would've used on Hopper in a Tom Green Deal. By then Riewoldt, Cotchin are gone prestias on way out & if Dusty gets his mojo back extend him so his salary is way less. Simples!
They don’t just fix midfield depth they mean we have a competitive midfield
Prestia and Cotchin are currently our two best midfielders by quite a large margin, we have no other experienced inside mids on the list
hunkleyWho's that?
Graham plays his best footy on the outside of the contest and has never shown an ability to consistently win clearances or contested possiesWhat is Ross and Graham?
What does Dusty do?
